Description A Tree Swallow at Burnaby Lake. Lots of activity that evening, including of a rare-for-the-region Yellow Headed Blackbird.

Been under the weather with a "cold" (actually a lung infection) I've had now for a month (part of why I lost my job after missing two days because of it) and can't afford the medication I need to get better.... so I don't have a lot of new art or photography, nor will I likely for a while. This photo was taken on a forced walk I took after going out to get my frogs some crickets.

What a unique shot! Granted, this is the first Tree Swallow picture that stands out to me but something about the angle of the shot and it's pose makes it look a lot more graceful. I do wish it there were less shadows, so it would of been a bit easier to see his face, must of been late afternoon the shot was taken I assume?

Ha ha, my mentor will be so proud of this shot, he loves tree swallows.

Thank you! And yes, late afternoon indeed. The sun was the exact opposite from where I would have wanted it, and post-processing didn't help, but liked the shot enough to post anyway.

Wow, just as I was trying to identify this bird for some of my own shots, I seen this in my messages for your submission to #vancouver Thanks for helping me figure it out!

And great shot, by the way. I seen a few of them at Lost Lagoon last week

Yay! They're such pretty little swallows. Glad you found the ID!

They sure are. I'm fairly new to bird photography, so sometimes ID'ing them is the trickiest part for me. Thanks again!
