Description
Just reliving some childhood memories here with BBC2. I LOVED THIS CAR SO MUCH XDBack in the 1990s were some amazing idents between programs with the 2 logo and my personal favourite was the remote controlled car which fist appeared November 1st 1993 (21 years ago) and survived until November 19th 2001.
But more recently the car ident came back for BBC2's 50th Anniversary and was first back on our screens on my birthday (July 18th).

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY BBC2! The Channel with some of the most classic Idents ever created!

Ah yes, this ident is very funny and cute! I also like the "Fluffy Dog" ident (so kawaii!), and the more serious "Silk" and "Optics" idents. Their music is so mysterious… I'm happy they're back currently on British TV!
My favourite TV idents of the nineties from my country, France, are those: www.gentv.be/visionner.php?vid… – www.gentv.be/visionner.php?vid… – www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2zY6U… – www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aZqGq… – www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovrrt0…

Ah yes Fluffy Dog was great too! I remember Optics as a kid too in the good old pre-school days.
Wow, France have quite a different set of adverts to us in England.

and even now you can hear the introduction theme, and with Jeremy Clarkson then Craig Charles.
"More smashing and bashing. More metal mayhem. This is Robot Wars!"
I admit owning quite a bit of merchandise including R/C Tornado.

I have like a dozen pull back toys, and other accessories, like the wall, the grey balls, the house robots (and Growler) and two Robot Wars books (posted onto dA) but they are mostly in storage and very good condition but, not perfect.
I also suspect with that slope. BBC 2 logo could be a contender to the Lightweight title in the earlier season(s) of Robot Wars. Not saying it would win but, (maybe) get out of the first round melee.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ysNGG… 0:32 at least mentions Robot Wars while BBC2 Car ident is on screen. 3:20 Robot Wars Extreme introduction.

Maybe the BBC2 Logo was the inspired mascot for Robot Wars, not to mention the idents from 2001-2007 which was the "robot personality" idents.
One of these idents has the 2 with a flame thrower so who knows...

Oh yes indeed. And it was a great show. I know they changed the music for the new show for the new start but, I was not a fan of it.
I could imagine this little robot having a scoop flipper on it, like Onslaught as it was a lightweight robot, unlike Behemoth whom grew over the various series but, also a scoop flipper.

British Broadcasting Corporation.
Back then they had two channels (and now they have six: 1,2,3, 4, News and Parliament)

Oh yeah. I've always loved the idents between programs. The 2 is really iconic and it's one of the best random things in my childhood XD
