Description I was feeling confident tonight. Yay finding tutorials for a friend actually helping me, too. Pose help from [link]

Name: Iida
Clan: Blackhoof
Gender: Female
Species: Ibex
Age: 61 moons (approx. 5yrs), equivalent to human 20s in maturity
Element: Earth
Powers: Nature affinity, can sense what the earth needs and has the skill to fulfill those needs. Can accelerate plant growth. Can use the energy of plant life to boost her strength in extreme circumstances.
Height: 6'5" (7'2" including horns)
Measurements: 34-23-37

Family background: Grew up as a "latchkey kid" (pun intended) with very little supervision, essentially self-raised

Birthplace: German Alps

History: Iida, as a latchkey, had very little love or affection, let alone discipline, from parental figures growing up. Due to this, life in the Blackhoof clan was unsuited for her and she would become a Wanderer: an outcast left to their own in whatever life may deal them. Upon leaving the clan territory, Iida would make her way nearer to small villages, where the humans (isolated from their brethren) would be unaware of the existence of such creatures and would react to Iida in varying ways. Some of the human villagers would react in awe of her, reciting ancient stories and songs of forest spirits. Others would panic and attempt to kill the "abomination".

Along the way, Iida would learn the songs and languages of the people she met, fleeing whenever her life was endangered, but staying for days and even weeks where she was welcome, ensuring good harvests to those who allowed her to remain. By the time she reached her sixty-first moon, she had traveled portions of Germany, czechoslovakia, and Poland, though she would only be truly fluent in German by this time, with a broken understanding of the remaining languages she encountered, however her native speak of the Ibex would always be her mothertongue.

During her time as a Wanderer, Iida would become aware of the English, jumping ship to the little island torn by wars amongst the several tiny nations upon it, quickly assimilating the language due to the similarities between it and German. In England, life became more difficult, despite the country's more accepting nature of the emerging world of creatures with human intelligence, as her history as a latchkey made understanding the necessity of employment--and keeping the boss happy--difficult to accept.

After several failed jobs, most involving manual labour and even as a bar maid in a small Scottish pub and inn, Iida would take to the Wandering life again, but this time on the small island. To provide herself with adequate food and shelter, she would translate the songs she learned from her travels into the native English--or Gaellic, depending on where she was--and sing them, peddling her bardic craft for coin from passers-by.

Home: The Road

Physical description:
Hair/fur style: Naturally short, course, natural patterning
Eyes: Blue-violet
Body: Tall, lithe
Physical Condition: Toned but often slightly underweight
Marks/Scars/Tattoos: Natural fur patterning only, dark brown and white socks/gloves, dark stripe down spine
Clothing: none
Possessions: her knowledge and powers

Personality: Aloof, somewhat self-centered. Notorious for only giving when there is something to get. Crafty, will try to trick her way out of things when she can--however, if she takes an oath, she will keep it. Often seen as uncouth and rude due to lack of training in propriety. Swears more than she should. The only time she seems to get along with humans is while she sings, but as soon as the songs are done, she either leaves or opens a bottle. When drunk, she is still rude, but can be friendly and joke around.

Likes: Scottish ale, Music, the natural world
Dislikes: People, her clan, Winter
Fears: Death, being trapped, being hurt by humans

getting this picture must have taken forever. first, you have to get her to hold the pose. every time a twig snaps it's like "OMFG LION RUN!!!" and scampers away. and the flash from the camera is another problem: she freaks out in the middle, so you get a blurry picture. well, she looks like a gazelle, so i was just running with that.

anyway, i wasn't planning on commenting on actual content, but i must say that the perspective and structure is quite good.

hehe, yeah, a critter like her would be hard to get a picture of, unless the painter had a *really* good photographic memory and could just see her like that for an instant and remember it. Also, thanks ^^

bellamuesette In reply to Tulpi [2011-05-25 06:12:33 +0000 UTC]

It's not necessarily a bad thing. I was just thinking of meerkats. The colors and structure are similar. From an illustrative point of view, I guess. You could pet either of them if you were fast enough. Or epic enough of a tamer to catch and domesticate them.
