Description

The black aurora was mostly made of a carbon aerogel-like material, built in-situ from the CO2 in the earth’s atmosphere. The manufacturing process is not entirely understood, but the general consensus is that it was initially built using nanoscaled temperature differentials and then further built with enzyme-like nanomachinery.
The supercapacitor capabilities of the carbon aerogel, along with its extreme lightness, allowed the aurora to float on a cushion of electrostatically restrained air. The resulting EM field killed anyone within 500km with a brain implant, though it is believed to have been an unintended side effect of the black aurora’s propulsion.
The final purpose of the black aurora is still unknown. It was destroyed when hive Mandelbrot and hive Srinivasa launched millions of superconducting wires between the black aurora and the earth. Robbed of it’s electrical potential, the aurora fell to the ground.
