“Double A found themself silently tracing the steps of the one called Altair. It wasn’t because it was him or anything, Double A couldn’t even remember any point where they had ever interacted with the feline, but he was simply a soul to follow, an essence to chase so they wouldn’t get lost in this strange, glowing city. At least, not get lost alone, anyway.”

Double A spends Trail 3 fighting the urge to be alone, because she’s tired of being alone. But of course she was a black soul. Of course the universe wanted making connections to be even harder than it’d ever been before. Of course just when she found herself breaking down those walls, all her soul was telling her was to build them back up. Or perhaps, it has nothing to do with their soul shade, and everything to do with themself.
