So. I took a break from drawing owed art today, and finally got started on a project I've wanted to do for a while. I should have another adopt up tomorrow, although I will be on a road trip this weekend, so updates will be slow for a little bit. My apologies to the people waiting.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, I am basing this on the Warriors book series. This will be a sort of AU.

I'd really like to do some high-fantasy inspired Warrior Cats illustrations. What I would be doing is taking a scene from the books, and drawing it in this style. It should be a great way to practice visual story telling, character and environment design, drawing backgrounds, ect. For the sake of simplicity, I will be limiting myself to scenes from Into the Wild to start. If I can keep the series going, I will eventually start doing pieces from the later books.

I'm probably going to be doing at least a few more character concepts before I move on to drawing an actual scene. Most of the scenes I could pick have multiple characters in them, and I want to think about how I want them to look before hand. I have three options for the first scene I want to go for. I could do a solo piece of Rusty in this universes version of Twoleg Place, before joining the clan. I could do the prolog two the first book, which I would love to try, but there's like a bazillion characters in it. Or I could do the scene of Bluestar and Spottedleaf receiving the Fire prophesy, which would be out of order chronologically, but would only need two new character designs. I would, however, need to design Thunderclan camp.

Eh... Let me know what you think. Even if you aren't a fan of the series, would you be interested in seeing some pseudo-comic page style illustrations like this?

Edit: I cleaned up and changed a few things, including the stripes on his arms. I was going to a flamey pattern, but it was too hard to draw consistently.

Edit 2: Changed the face markings as well, to work better from the sides. I hav't changed the adult version yet, but I will when I get the time.
