Description
THIS IS NOT MY CHARACTER. THIS IS A COMMISSION.Commission for . They were absolutely superb with feedback with this thing since I have never done a reference sheet before. No, seriously. You were absolutely fantastic, you took my constant stream of notes with stride, and it was a load of fun working with this character and coming up with all his different facial expressions and poses. This was challenging (as evidenced by the fact that not even my own characters have reference sheets) but it was a fun challenge.
I think the hardest part was purposely dialing back my shading. I really don't do flats in my artwork in fear that it makes the picture look...flat.
I sure am glad that I bought a new computer before I took this on, because I'm pretty sure this commission would've short-circuited my old set-up. This computer was a champ and only really slowed down once while working on this, and it was probably more to do with the fact that I was dumb and running multiple programs on top of a 10k width picture with 50 layers.
Also, I kind of added a part of myself into Gaius's middle pose there because I found out from one of my friends that not everybody holds their place in a book with their pinky finger. I'm just weird like that.
Hello! Sorry for disappearing for three weeks but things got really hectic in my life. But now I seem to have things sorted out in the art department so now things can progress normally!
Note: Like I said, this is the first time I've done a reference sheet, so if you have any feedback about what to do on these things, let me know.

This has turned out fantastic. I could not have asked for a more perfect representation of Gaius at all. Thanks for doing this for me

No, thank you for always replying so quickly to all of my repeated inquiries about what proportions to make his horns, how these sketches look, whether the happy face I drew is too happy, thickness of spines, and all of that good stuff. You really made this reference sheet easier than I thought it would be and you took my constant barrage of retweaks and sketches with aplomb!
Also thank you for providing the text!
It truly was a fun learning experience, and I think future reference sheets I do will have a more streamlined approach to them.
Pleasure doing business with you!

Oh cool, thanks!
To be honest, I've done some artworks that were sort of like references before, but never a full-on reference sheet with details and writing and stuff. Thankfully there are a ton of reference sheet commissions floating around the Internet so I just kind of took inspiration on how they were structured and went from there.
