A little picture from my pocket sketchbook!
I draw a lot of squirtle and charmander together in my sketchbooks. I always imagine they’re best bros on like… a buddy road trip or something. I draw bulbasaur too, but almost never with the other two for some reason. Hmm.Art property

Yeah, I just feel like there's a little more... I dunno, anatomy? to work with on squirtle and charmander. Like, they're easier to pose than bulbasaur, because bulba's compact, stubby little body doesn't really lend itself easily to a lot of interesting poses.

Such a cute scene. Please do tell me you are going to create a game or at least a picture book in the near future (both must be available overseas, of course).

Thanks! ^^ And actually, I'm the illustrator for the Threshold Series companion books, which are children's books, so technically that's already out there. XD I didn't write them and they're not fully illustrated, like a regular kid's book, but they're free to download, which is nice. Lol!
I've got a few books of my own that I've been working on. Some are children's books, and some are novels. But I've been rather busy with work, so personal projects like that kind of got pushed to the back burner for now.

this is so derpy and cute! i love it! i love their expressions, especially Charmander's! the warm colors and lighting are great and make such a pleasant mood. If i saw this as a print at a convention, I'd definitely buy it!

Lol, I guess I just like drawing squirtle and Charmander more. XD But somebody suggested that maybe these two are on a road trip to save bulbasaur because he got caught by a trainer. So let's go with that. XD

That's quite a cute collar design for Squirtle >w< And the Charmander design gives so much personalities as well!

Thank you! ^^ And yeah, I think it's because I don't usually enjoy drawing bulbasaur as much as these two. His anatomy makes bulbasaur difficult to pose sometimes I think. XD

Not so much that's he's not bipedal. I mean, heck a dog or horse or whatever is easy to pose. Bulbasaur is just harder because he's so compact. Like, he's basically just a lump with tiny little knub legs. Not a lot to work with, you know? XD

Maybe the Bulbasaur got separated (caught by a trainer?) and the others are going on a journey to find them because they want to stay with their friend! Whatever the story is, I think these two are such cutie patoots aah!
