the extreme use of tattoo's, (i like tattoo's, but now everyone does them, and sometimes they dont even do them forthe desire of having art in their skin, but simply to ''fit in'' with a group, and that is wrong, thats all...), the hipster glasses, and the sassy/cheecky look on her face, they all add up into a nice inside-joke drawing about people/trends that are considered mainstream today, and that everyone does simply Β to match with the times....

Considering Ariel was old enough to run off and get married, /and/ have a kid in a direct-to-video sequel, I'd hardly think she's under 18, considering Disney's concerns with being 'morally upstanding'.Β So with that factor out of the way, there's no reason the nipples should have been any reason for deletion.

God I hate DA sometimes (most of the time). You know, *technically*, in the myth of mermaids, they don't even wear bras, so there are technically even younger female mermaids swimming around topless. Plus, the fact that there is a 16 year old running around in a bra is ok, but having her nipple shape show in the bra isn't? If you drew her without the bra that's one thing, but dear god! Now they're just being ridiculous! Prudes shouldn't be allowed to be moderators. I'M SORRY DA. WOMEN HAVE BREASTS. WOMEN HAVE NIPPLES. GET USED TO IT. PLUS you can also argue, that the original author of the story for the little mermaid was from Denmark. And the legal age of sexual consent in Denmark is 15. Since Ariel is 16 in the original movie, she *technically* can be sexualized based on the origins of the story. There's a lot of grey area, and when I see pictures of obvious fornication being marked as "invalid" when reported, but very tame stuff like your Ariel piece being deleted, any question of whether DA has any logic becomes rather clear at that point (they don't). But regardless, you weren't *really* inappropriately sexualizing her. Blah. It's just all a stupidly absurd mess lol.

While I agree there is nothing wrong with the image, be careful about doing re-uploads.
I've seen other artists get kicked for re-upping art that was taken down on the same basis.
It's not that the image is erotic, it's that in devart's eyes, she is treated as being the same age as in the original media she first appeared.
It's dumb, as she is clearly an adult but that's how they think, in their minds you made her a sexualized teenager.
That's how their rules read.
Devart can be pretty arbitrary about what they take down and what they don't but they tend to be fairly vicious about going after re-ups of deleted art.
It's usually better (and safer) to upload any of your work devart removes on this basis to a blogspot account.
That seems to be what other artists end up doing.
I don't want to see another good artist get kicked to the curb over devart's badly written and randomly enforced rules.

That's my understanding on how it works, it's based on the first appearance rather than the latest.
It's a really arbitrary guideline that is heavily subject to the judgement of the particular devart admin that sees the image.
(and whether or not he/she has a functioning brain)
I don't like the rule, as it's too easy for it to be abused by someone with a personal bias or agenda.
I tend to agree with what drakahn said.
Add a line to the comments stating her age in the image and that there is cannon material showing her at that age & hope for the best.
The language was a little hard to read but it looks like you said you changed the image slightly from the original.
That may afford you some protection as well.
Devart gets pissy over re-submission of the exact same image, if it's slightly different they may let the re-up slide even if they decide to take it down again.
Anyway, I hope it all works out in your favor.
