Description "No. There was no remorse here. I levitated my rifle back into my saddle bag and Tweety back to her holster.

I kept the sawed-off shotguns out. The steel of one was a crimson color, and its wooden grip was a dark mahogany. The word ‘ANGER’ was crudely scratched and burned into the wood multiple times. I certainly did feel ‘angry’. There was a strange marking on the barrel. Just a design, I thought. The other was also rather unique for a gun. The barrel was an illustrious, rusty blue. The handle was made of a very, dark blue, almost black, stained wood. It, too, had a strange marking on the barrel. A scripted word in a pearl-like substance was inlaid on the stock. It read ‘Malice’. Dual shotguns named ‘Anger and Malice’.

How fitting..." --Excerpt from chapter 6: Into the Mountains www.fimfiction.net/story/60124...

Alrighty, then. These to things took way longer to draw than they should have. Now, I can get back to my requests that I have piled up.

Anger and Malice are two unique sawed-off shotguns that both complement and contrast each other.

Anger is enchanted to shoot a flurry of birdshot, not matter what kind of shell is loaded. The pellet spread is very wide, but not very damaging. Previous owners have noted that Anger doesn't usually kill opponents outright, and 'things with the slightest armor just tend to get pissed off'. Due to this, Anger is usually used trip opponents up or incapacitate them, where Malice then comes in to deliver the finishing blow.

Malice, unlike Anger, will always fire heavy slugs. These slugs have very little spread and deal high damage. When used in conjunction with Anger's 'make everything in this direction fall over' ability, Malice can be quickly used to finish off who- or what- ever is left.

INCOMING SPOILERZ!

So... the design for these guns may be a bit confusing.

"Turtle, how do human weapon?!!1!?!!one!?"

Well, that's easy to explain, and starts off the duo's background story...

A griffon Sandpirate (DLC Required) once held the captain's seat to the Leviathan, the most notorious pirate ship in pre-war Equestria and even still in the aftermath of the Apocalypse that followed the war. Klaus Stortebeak was his name. It was a name spoken only in hushed tones in the dark corners of seaside taverns. Before the war, Stortebeak used to capture and pilfer war goods coming and going from Lake Myst, which use to border the entirety of the south east Outlands (a sort of Equestrian Caspian Sea). At his sides were his two treasured guns, Zorn und Bosheit.

These two weapons were nothing special. Just two shotguns that had been modified with pistol grips and shortened barrels to allow the griffon pirate to use them during raiding parties or inside the tight confines of ships. Even after the bombs fell and Lake Myst dried up, Stortebeak didn't give up his pirating ways. In the years following the Last Day, Stortebeak became a ghoul, and using his knowledge of intricate levitation technology, became the first 'Sandpirate'. With the Leviathan outfitted for land transit, Stortebeak sailed the open wastes that were once the sea-bed of Lake Myst, harassing the survivors that had holed up in the seaside communities.

Eventually, the time called for something a little more menacing. To that end, Stortebeak had a zebra alchemist enchant the firearms.

"Namesakes alike and origins polar... Forces of might, curses of bother... One bound to suffer; the other, to mercy... Uncontrolled rage, with no hope of gramercy..."

The alchemist gave each weapon their enchantments. But not without consequences. As the griffon continued to use the weapons to great effect, he slowly became more and more reckless. He made mistakes that a seventy-year-old ghoul shouldn't have had been making. There came the point in which his own crew members, new and old, staged a mutiny.

Stortebeak, imbued with the power of Anger and Malice, slaughtered the traitors within his crew. He went on to become one of the most feared creatures in the wastes, a legend of darkness and cruelty. He was nearly unstoppable.

Nearly...

The Outland Rangers, possessed in their tech-hording ways, attempted to capture the Leviathan. Both Stortebeak and the Rangers took heavy losses. The only two that remained alive enough to continue fighting were the ghoulish griffon and the Outland Rangers' Star Paladin. Both were hellbent on killing the other.

In the end, it was the cursed weapons that caused the death of the legendary Klaus Stortebeak. With each kill, they took a minute amount from their wielder. Little by little, he went insane, until he was no longer unable to comprehend the simplest thought. In a last ditch effort to finish off the Star Paladin, he charged. The Ranger fired his remaining munition.

And like that, both were engulfed in a fiery explosion, kill by vengeful vendettas.

From the wreckage of the Leviathan, the weapons circulated the wastes, slowly draining their users to insanity. Eventually, they ended up in Booth's possession (from who knows who or what) and then to Xero, who uses them quite freely, despite feeling a dark presence around them.

~Stats~
Stats vary based on number of kills made by Anger and Malice and Player Level.

7.16.2013- So it's 2:30 a.m. as I'm writing this, so it's probably crap. I might fix it later. But yeah... Anger and Malice if anyone was wondering.

Pretty neat!

btw, it's better to link to the main story, not to the chapter, since a link to the chapter will mark the chapter as read for logged in fimfic users, which isn't handy if they want to start to read it.

Looks like malice needs a new trigger. Must be hard to fire the second barrel with most of the trigger gone.

Pulled it out my ass... sort of...  And I was watching Treasure Planet a while back... so I thought "PIRATES!  My story needs pirates!".  And there's a bit of Borderlands 2 feel, with the Captain's Cursed Orphan Maker (pirate DLC).

Oooh Treasure Planet. That movie was a blast with their ye olde looking blasters.

Orphan Maker is unusable since I'm using the Rough Rider shield.
