Description
I am always partial to the classical toon style so I incorporated that look to my linx character. She is a character for my "Tolec the Jaguar" series. Some adventure strip idea of the Inca/Maya/Aztec period. I am still developing that. If I simplify her, she might make a good soccer team logo. I was going to put her in front of a jungle scene but it has been a while since I put something here.Related content

Thanks! I am not really a furry artist unless you count the contrib art I did for Snowbuni, but I do like fleshing out a cute character every now and then. This one came out of my old studio archives.

This art style certainly shows you are related to Herb Montes!

Well, we both had early influences like watching Astroboy on TV, and other toons. But we did went off on our own different studies. One things we both agree on is making as clean loooking artowrk as possible. Which explains our use of Corel Draw on a lot of stuff.

Aztec? Toltec? Maya? Will your story involve human sacrifice?

Well, I am not covering that part in my idea. The whole style is based on the European "Asterix the Gaul" comics. Only in my series deals in the Mexico/South America area during its New World discovery era. Tolec is a little indian boy who has a magical jade whistle that transform him into a little jaguar with powers. He has a devoted sister who transforms too and a bunch of other magical animals with him. The evil guys are the Spansih contisadors who are set to punder their civlization. Of course Tolec knows where the lost city of gold is(a fountain there restores the magic of the whistle). I been fleshing out the story for a while.
I was also inspired by the great Anime series, "The Mysterious Lost Cities of Gold", but I am going a different way with it.
I did found out I have some Aztec in me, from the Toatoanaca tribe.
It all fun stuff, nothing serious like human sacrifices. I would never do that. It would be so sad that it would tear everybody's heart out!

Hmmm. Well, if you are part Aztec that would explain any sudden urges that you might have to sacrifice someone with a stone knife.
Remember that the conquistadors had firearms, including mobile cannons. Your Aztec defenders will have to use lots stealth and cunning to defend against these superior weapons.
I also seem to recall that some of the local tribes joined the conquistadors during the battles for Tenochtitlan, so the Spanish had lots of local allies.

Yes! I must admit, it is a violent history. But makes for great storytelling. That is one of the reasons I have not published it yet. Need to see how to tone the concept for general consumption. Will post the other character later.

I can definately see similarities between you and your brother's styles. Pretty fur pattern and you gotta love them green eyes, too!

We did have common influences. We got into toon drawing at a early age.
Thanks. Love those eyes too.
