-Piercings: Three over his left eyebrow, three going down the cartilage of both ears, one glow-in-the-dark gauge in both ears, one dumbbell going through the bridge of his nose, one pair of 'snakebites' and one piercing in the middle of them, one in the tragus of both ears, and one in his tongue.

Personality: To best describe Shane would be to compare him with a clam. He's rather hard on the outside, but on the inside he's a big ol' softy. ...In a way. His normal personality is hard and cold. He has little tolerance for things that are stupid and a waste of time, especially if it's a person. There are times where he can bare it for the moment, but that time does not come up often. He has a smart mouth and knows how to use it. If someone tries to get in his face, he will do it right back. But despite all of the hate that he shows off, Shane is not a bad person in the least, which is what got him into Gryffindor in the first place.

Shane has some kind mixed in with all that hate. He secretly cares for others, just doesn't like showing it. He thinks that to show too much compassion is to show weakness, but sometimes he can't help himself. If he sees someone in serious danger, he'll do all he can to help them while being a dick to them all at the same time. He will also help people out with regular problems, but he'll try to never be nice about anything he does. The only thing that get all of the compassion that he could give are his pets or other animals/creatures. He's a softy for them.

History: Shane was born as a half-blood to an Asain mother and a British father. At birth, Shane was born with a rather rare eye disease by the name of Coloboma. People with Coloboma are missing a portion of the structure of the eye which can lead to severe vision loss. His father was rather determined that Shane's problem could be fixed with magic because there were no medical alternatives. He conjured up a potion to do the job, but something didn't go well with the mixing of the concoction, but it wasn't a severe problem. The potion had just turned Shane's pupils to a reddish hue and only cured his eyesight to a percentage. Shane still needs to wear glasses though.

When it came to the magical ability in his family, his father was a half-blood as well and his mother possessed no such skill/linage. His grandfather, on his father's side, is a pure blood and he married a muggle-born. Shane's grandfather was also in the Slytherin house, his grandmother was in Gryffindor, and his father was also apart of Slytherin. His grandfather assumed that "Slytherin Blood" must run in the family, so he bought Shane his first snake. Shane had named the snake Zhou and took special care of it for all of these years.

As he grew older, Shane was told that was going to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and he was not amused. He just didn't like the sound of it. He wanted to live a normal life with normal friends, but his father and grandfather told him many a-time that the life that he is dreaming of is impossible. He was told that he was given a gift and should be thankful and not spiteful. So, despite his wishes, Shane was whisked off to Hogwarts at the age of 12.

His first year at the academy was a bit of a shocker to some. Shane was already growing up with a scowl upon his face most of the time and he already had a bit of smart mouth, so when he was sent to be with Gryffindor there were many gasps that came from his family. His grandfather was so sure that he was going to Slytherin. But despite the fact that he was at Gryffindor, of course Shane was going to keep Zhou. The snake had become the boy's closest friend. Because of Shane's attitude, he didn't have many other friends in the first place, but that didn't really matter; making friends wasn't at the top of his list in the first place.

Shane had a heavy fear of becoming attached to people and then loosing them somehow. He was already afraid of losing Zhou. But he is slowly, but surely realizing that this is not a very good way to live life. He's not to big on changing his ways but he's isolating himself less and less as people come into his life. He doesn't have many friends, well he doesn't have any, but that doesn't stop him from at least KNOWING people. If he could make, at the very most, one friend other than Zhou, and that was human, he would be satisfied with himself; even if he would be constantly afraid of losing them.
