Dragon Age roleplay character

Level: 11.5

History: Janus escaped his master's household when he was nineteen and ran into the forests that still remain on Tevinter. In those ancient places he met his beloved friend Snowshadow, a wolf whose cubs were killed by hunters. Snowshadow adopted Janus as her pack mate and they have traveled together ever since.

Janus has traveled through most of Thedas in his six years of freedom - Nevarra, Antiva, The Free Marches, and most recently Orlais. He is a wanderer and has never settled in one place for more than a few months, the longest times being with a Dalish clan and a mercenary company.

Among the Dalish Janus served as a guard but hunted very little as his skills were of the blade and not the bow. He was forced to leave the clan when a slave hunter group sought his head for escaping. Without aid, save for Snowshadow, Janus killed the group but the danger he placed on the clan forced the Keeper to banish him, but not before branding Janus with a tattoo on his left shoulder, above his heart and down to his wrist - the Mark of Elgar'nan, touched by the God of Fatherhood and Vengeance. Any Dalish who sees him knows this man is a beast in human form.

With the mercenary group Janus served with distinction, particularly after a raid by a large bandit group was foiled by the organized last efforts of the company. Most of the group died but the six survivors were handsomely rewarded the shares of their fallen comrades and every man received a tattoo of a warrior, a stalwart defender mark.

Through Orlais Janus met a Bard, after she killed a mark at one tavern he stayed in. Rather than kill him the Bard took Janus as somewhat of an apprentice and companion, teaching him more of music, dance, song and story, and of the blade. Some months after turning five and twenty he left Orlais for the west...

Equipment -

Armor: chainmail and leather, molded and snug to his body allows for ease of movement.

Weapons - Knuckle-guard grips (good for punching). Two blade types (talon and spike):

Talon - curved as a cats' claw, 16 inches total length from grip to tip. Blade on inside curve, outside curve is thick for strength and flexibility - similar in design to Japanese katana.

Spike - triangular blade (for stabbing)

Forged with magic fire for greater strength, but not inherently magical.

Poison claws: the left gauntlet holds small veins leading to the sharp finger tips. A vial of poison can be inserted into a slot and transmitted via a scratch or cut.

Halla Horn Amulet, +15% magic resistance

Talents -
Dual Striking:
1. Riposte - Janus punches an enemy with the knuckle guard of his left blade and uses his right for a critical strike. Usually the throat. He's a cutthroat.

2. Cripple - The character strikes low at a target, gaining a momentary attack bonus and hitting critically if the attack connects, while crippling the target with penalties to movement speed, attack, and defense

Dual Weapon:
1. Dual Weapon Sweep - Janus uses the talon blades to strike his enemies in a wide swathe.

2. Flurry - Janus strikes three times with his talon blades, at one enemy or three if able.

Twinstrikes:
1. Twin Strikes - Two devastating strikes in rapid succession each inflict an automatic critical hit.

Heartseeker:
1. Heartseeker - Janus attempts critical strikes to either incapacitate foes or kill them outright with single attacks. Effective when paired with Stealth.

2. Flicker - Janus elven heritage, coupled with training, has given him deadly speed. Within a targeted area, the rogue disappears in a blur, sprinting from target to target to backstab each of them.

Stealth - Janus hides in shadow, to evade detection or to silently dispatch enemies. Using sound he is able to misdirect enemies, making them search areas away from his goal.

Waxed canvas, hand sown, "weapon rack" which is able to hold various arms in in sleeves of various lengths. Janus is conservative in making new sleeves so most of the material is unused.

Works some jobs at the tavern to pay for room and board, plays music for the same reason.
