Well, here I am, back with some new artwork. I have to admit, after all those submissions I cranked out a few weeks back at high speed, I kind of burned out for a while and needed some rest. The unfortunate thing is, once I got out of the art thing, it was hard for me to get back into it. I had another idea for a pic that I wanted to do before this one, but for some reason, it just felt too daunting and I didn't feel up to it. So to get my mojo working again, I decided to just start small with a simple pic that I knew I could just bang out in a couple of hours, no problem.

Or at least it FELT that way when I started. But wouldn't you know it, it ended up taking nearly twice as long to get it finished, despite the simplicity of the concept. In the end, it ended up being the finer details that ended up taking forever and a day for me to iron out. But nevertheless, the pic is done.

This one comes to us, courtesy of a request from , one of my more recent fans, but a definite lover of my work. Anyway, he wanted to see a pic based on my DP fanfic, "Trial By Fire", a story in which Sam acquires ghostly flame powers, in contrast to Danny's freezing abilities. While a period of training with Dora Mattingly gives her the ability to control her new powers, it isn't until Sam receives encouragement from Danny that she gains the confidence she needs to actually do it.

What you see here is the end result when Sam taps into her controlled flame powers for the first time. Granted, this form is a little extreme. for example, the jets of flame jutting out from her back like wings are not something you see every time she uses her powers. This was just something she added for emphasis. Especially considering that the ghost she was fighting at the time was Undergrowth.

Yes, this pic is basically being seen from Undergrowth's POV. And in this scene he's about to learn the hard way what it means when one force of nature encounters another that's meant to keep it in check.
