Believe me, I know how the lady's feeling right now.This is my first foray into expanding my artistic horizons. Those of you who are familiar with my work undoubtedly know about my Kim Possible and Danny Phantom artwork and fanfics. But now, I'm planning to branch out into the DCAU-style as well.
My first experiment in this format is Starfire. I'm actually planning on drawing a few pics of her, mostly alongside Dick Grayson/Nightwing (one reason being that I wrote a JLU fanfic about them teaming up with Batman and Wonder Woman, which I've just posted, in case you'd like to have a mental image of her in action). But this was just an effort to see for myself if I could really do it.
Offhand, I'd say the answer is yes. The hair turned out exactly the way I wanted it, the clothes turned out great, the skin tones, everything. But don't take my word for it. Everyone is free to offer their own opinions about the work. I hope everyone likes what they see.

Well, the bases helped a little this time. I actually got more help Googling images for facial features, color palettes and hairstyle ideas. No doubt, I'll get more use from the palettes when I draw my Marvel Family pic, since that'll have a few different body types in it.
Actually, I did make a few little changes in the design process, though. For one thing, I was kind of thinking about giving Starfire eyes like Supergirl or Babara Gordon from Season 4 of Batman: TAS, just eyes that were really bright. But then I decided to go with the comic design for her eyes, which basically look like what you see here (I just added a white gradient to the center to give them a little added brightness).
I also changed a few things in terms of color, as well. While I used a good screenshot from the TT series as the color ref for Starfire's clothes (which worked out perfectly), I found I couldn't use it for the hair or skin tones, mostly because the colors came out either too dull or too dark for my tastes. I wanted her to look REALLY bright and vibrant in this pic, especially since I'd be sticking to her comic book characteristic of how her hair forms a trail of fire when she flies. So I had to kind of play around a bit until I found a color scheme that worked. Offhand, I'd say I hit it quite nicely.

Oh, trust me, I fully intend to. Looks like you'll be seeing more DCAU pics from me in the future. Not to mention a couple of JLU fanfics (one of which features the lovely lady of this pic) which never managed to find there way here from fanfiction.net.

Well, pretty soon, I'll have the fics posted and you can see how mine worked. I've written two fics so far. One featuring not only Captain Marvel, but the entire Marvel Family. And another featuring Nightwing and Starfire teaming up with Batman and Wonder Woman to take down...well, I'd rather not say. I'd hate to spoil the surprise. You'll just have to read the stories and find out for yourself, once I've posted them.
