Believe me, I know how the lady's feeling right now.This is my first foray into expanding my artistic horizons. Those of you who are familiar with my work undoubtedly know about my Kim Possible and Danny Phantom artwork and fanfics. But now, I'm planning to branch out into the DCAU-style as well.
My first experiment in this format is Starfire. I'm actually planning on drawing a few pics of her, mostly alongside Dick Grayson/Nightwing (one reason being that I wrote a JLU fanfic about them teaming up with Batman and Wonder Woman, which I've just posted, in case you'd like to have a mental image of her in action). But this was just an effort to see for myself if I could really do it.
Offhand, I'd say the answer is yes. The hair turned out exactly the way I wanted it, the clothes turned out great, the skin tones, everything. But don't take my word for it. Everyone is free to offer their own opinions about the work. I hope everyone likes what they see.

Glad to hear it.Β Yeah, since this is an older Starfire, I wanted there to be some cross between her Teen Titans cartoon design and her looks in the comics (though obviously, without that uber-perm, which I never really cared for).Β Her eyes pretty much glow all the time now and I threw in that trait where the end of her hair turns into a trail of flame as she flies.Β I also made her outfit more like her comic book incarnation (at least, before the New 52 came along and basically turned her into a slut).
For the record, I'm planning of drawing a pic soon which will feature Starfire vs. Wonder Woman (a scene from my JLU fanfic, "Point of View", where she and Diana threw down in a VR battle simulation, just for fun).

yup. i agree with you on Star in the New 52 comic. they did make her look like a slut.

Well, it's as much to do with how they have her act with how she looks.Β But yeah, not a big fan of the New 52 Star.

Well, I prefer pre-New 52 Wonder Woman, too.Β I liked it when she was in love with Batman, not so much this fling she's having with Superman because I'm not so sure I buy that.Β It seems more to me like their "relationship" is purely physical and eventually, one of them is going to want something more than just a super-powered booty call.

Glad you like it. I was really proud of this, considering I pretty much designed her from scratch (although really, the only difficult part was coming up with a hair design I liked). Going with her suit from the comics was probably a little risque, but hey, if the show could get away with fire by posting a few tufts of flame over her naughty bits, I'm pretty sure I can get away with this.
At this point, expect more DCAU-style stuff from me in the future. And if you're interested, feel free to check out the JLU fanfics I just posted here (one of which, features Starfire and Nightwing). And know that I'll have some more pics soon.

Glad you like it. I gave her Wonder Woman's body and Black Canary's face, but everything else is pure Starfire (I even kept the stubby little eyebrows from her Teen Titans design). The suit and her eye design are from the comics (well, I kind of added to the eyes a little bit), but the hairstyle was my own design. Like I said, I wanted something that was a compromise from her traditional comic "uber-perm" and her flat TT style. All in all, I think my vision works very nicely.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm being boastful. I'm just REALLY proud of this piece.
