'Been some time since 2011. And since 2015... when I last updated the folder.
This one was actualy commissioned, by Lionel.
I opened a special long-term offer in late 2016, where I would draw a real pokemon of a client's choice, within few month span.
Originaly, it supposed to have more antelope-horn "scythe" (seen here: link ), but I liked the commissioner's idea of a cat claw, which could add some neat translucency in this weird structure.
I don't usualy write what's going on, and what was the inspiration, under those real pokemon artworks... But this time I actualy typed down most of the stuff for the client. So, if anyone's curious, I may put the description later on. Also, this is related: Guess who no 3

Absol isn't really known, to be honest the poor Pokemon is kinda forgotten but to see fan art like this is amazing! I'm glad to see someone wants to put time and effort to recreate this Pokemon realistically!

Pierwsze słyszę. Dla ludzi, którzy nie za bardzo orientują się w bazie, na której te designy bazują, zostało utworzone wyrażenie beast trio. Będąc dosyć ogólnikowe, pojęcie to również pomaga pogodzić dwa obozy (tych od psów i tych od wielkich kotów).
Co nie zmienia faktu, że mamy tutaj tygrysa, lamparta oraz lwa, wszystkie odpowiednio ukoloryzowane, również z pewną dozą mitologii Wschodu.

I've always seen it as a goat, with feline traits. Dunno, maybe it's a mesonychid thing.
