Name- Mehrthios
Species- Dicorian
Gender- Male
Age- (?)

Dicorians
Elusive feral equine-like creatures that have existed on Gaila for as long as there has been written history.
Obviously they are not docile creatures, the armor and dual horns serve as both defensive and offensive weapons. Their body structure resembles that of a canine, giving them the physical ability to crouch, lay down, and even scratch their ear like a dog would. Their hooves are split into three different toes, each flexible enough to grip rocky, mountain terrain. The spines along their backs serve only as a defensive attribute, normally if something attempted to mount their backs the spikes would be rammed into the attacker. However, domesticated Dicorians have their spikes filed down so that they can be ridden safely. Dicorians are herbivorous their diets ranging from grass to fruits as well as oats or hay. They are a variety of muted colors ranging from dull crimson to a gray blue, their armor is always one single color while their fur and hair tends to have more variations.

As a species Dicorians are regal and only ridden by choice passengers, therefore it is dishonorable if a Dicorian is forcibly ridden.
Inter and Outer species communication is obtained by the Dicorian's knowledge of the mute words, were language is not spoken but felt through connection to one another. (More Mute Word information will come later on)

Character:
Mehr, is short-tempered, occasionally vulgar, and independent Dicorian. He is protective of his friends and companions but sometimes difficult to get along with. (More of his history as I sort it out)

And finally the art

Gods this one took forever, every little bit of this image from design to sketch to coloring and finally to typing up these comments. And I still feel like I've left huge gaps in the details.
Ah well, here is, as promised, the first Dicorian and major character in my story.

Amazingly enough most of the inspiration and idea behind the coloring job came from this tutorial.
After that it became trial and a lot of error before I had a finished product.
At this point I feel like I have said enough and I will just let the image speak for itself, though I am thinking about uploading some detail shots, since downsizing the original devoured some of the quality.
It's amazing what a little self-reverse sociology and relationship drama will do for a person.
