Description just messing around with some materials in maya. I have not done much with the brushed steel yet, but the concrete seems to be looking ok. It might be a tad smooth. I am also perplexed as to why the glass does not let light through it. It keep casting shadows when I turn on caustics and global illumination. The rendering above is done with just final gather, but it looks ok as far as shadows and light go, I may just stick with that.

At this point in history The expense is really not worth speaking of.
as for the glass transparency maybe your missing an option, step or tweak somewhere. Most of the time any more the only place you can see through glass is from the inside to the outside. And even then its tinted to 17 or 18% or more sometimes. This is a three d render i gather and is very well done in my opinion but then I don't go through life picking things apart until its too late or I need to. very well done Mat.Test

Thanks. I am sure some option is preventing the light from doing what it needs to do, but I have no clue where the option is

*smiles* well I do see some of the blue of the sky on your archetecture, and I see light, wich is good.. lightrays allways make people go OOoooo, but the caustics stuff isnt so necissary in this piece, as its pretty much direct light...

My old maya teacher used to call it Cowsticks *giggles* silly asain accent :3

Well, there is glass on the above floor, and caustics is turned off for this rendering. This seems to be 'correct' so to speak, but as for turning it on...shadows galore...pooh
