I was very pleased when I found this journal skin. I find its geometric order, limited color scheme, and overall understated elegance to be a real prize.
I very much enjoy the limited color scheme of black, dark red, and white. Each is a high visual contrast from the others, and there is never any conflict with style or readability. It doesn't try too hard and it never clashes.
The composition again follows the themes of modesty and not trying too hard. The bold header is a beautiful compliment to the text boxes below, and I like the feature of the scrollbox which is something I have not often seen in these journal skins. The floral motif is used sparingly, and this works entirely to the piece's benefit. The piece is geometrically superior as well, for those to whom such things matter. It is composed mainly of rectangles and justified text, with the curving floral motifs set at 90° angles which further underscores the underlying order of the skin.
I would recommend a journal skin like this to any fan of the Art Nouveau florals or slightly gothic color schemes. The simplicity to this skin should appeal to a broad audience, along with the comforting order and beautiful style in which it was done.
