TLC Mini Ship Week Day 7: Revolution.

Whew. Done. with 50 minutes left on the clock.

Instead of a violent, rebellious type of "revolution", I thought about "revolving" more than anything. With that in mind, I thought of the planets and how the moon revolves around the earth. I thought about the cycles of time, of day to night. I thought of cycles and the transition of power from one generation to the next. Thus, Levana and Selene. Selene is the dawn of a new era, Levana the endless night of terror over Luna and the earth. I wanted them to look similar, though, because they are, in a way. Both suffered from fires that left them visibly scarred, and both grew up with abusive families and few friends. Yet their lives took very different turns.

Anyone who has watched Revolutionary Girl Utena should recognize the "Rinbu Revolution" poses. And as kudos to Marissa Meyer's origins, Selene's dress has Neo-Queen Serenity features.

Now, time for a nice, long, relaxing break before the real Ship Week in December.
