unable to close my eyes
impossible to stop
i'm trapped in a nightmare
that i brought onto myself
making a choice that i would
later regret
death does not visit me
because i am death itself
draining humankind of its life
and its entire soul
mortality is what i crave
what i desire most
but i cannot have what i love
and so i am lost
