Description
~~~Cell-shaded, multi-char comish for of, from right to left to top, Hyshaji, Yakumo, and Ferryl. (Ferryl is feral! X) )
Done to look like a movie or game poster showcasing each char - poses pre-approved by Night. Pretty fun to work on! I like pieces like this because I get to work on character designs that I wouldn't normally do, (aka, I'd be drawing chibi Muzafrs all over the place until you'd die of the cute.)
Love how the shades turned out, especially on Hyshaji and that whole thing he's doing with the swords and wings. Each pose is also foreshortened a bit, fyi.
...Colours might change if Night wants them changed. Yakumo and Ferryl's colours were done with a written description.
Also added some general highlighting because I couldn't stand it. And yep, Hyshaji's swords are glowing because he can channel magic into them! (Like...like an enchanted weapon. *Skyrim nerd moment* )
Makes me want to work on some of my personal cyborg/robotic designs. I mean what?

First off wonderful ideas here- Drawing anthro's especially reptilian ones is hard. I'm sorry I'm bad with names so please forgive me in advance e.deviantart.net/emoticons/let⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
Love the cell shading the harsh light and soft shadowing around each character. It pops well and its not often enough that you see harsh contrast compared to softer shading-The crispness works well especially for character profiles.
The poses are great; I like how you added cyborg-ish? parts weapons horns and hairstyles that differ.
The rough worn and non varied colors of the 'green' give him the appearance of a 'worse for the wear' rough n tumble kinda character with a hard past. The dusty looking stains, the rugged scarf, and the small concealed knife make me imagine he's a wanderer or nomad. He blends in because of his attire and goes unseen and unnoticed maybe as an assassin or a ninja of some sort-Wonderful that you can inspire a feel for him with those details.
Where as 'black' looks very clean cut disciplined and has a uniformal look to him- The pose with the sabers is really intense almost like a fighting stance together with the guard pads, the fitted shirt, loose pants give me the impression he's got agility and is a skilled martial artist and sword fighter of some stature.
I like being able to see a wing span like the top profile. Especially because I like the way you've drawn out the wings. The extra mandible on the wings is interesting and I'm interested as to why 'red' has a 'mask' or prosthetic eye(s). I would like to see some more details with him though.
The only downside for me is the background- Maybe a different color/style/etc. But the plain shimmery gold doesn't do it for me-Definitely don't want to take away from the characters but maybe something with some sharp lines or abstract designs or simply a color that compliments more.
Wonderful work as always and can't wait to see more of these guys!

I love the dynamic poses these three have. You did a great job making them all look ready for action although my particular favourite is Hyshaji and the way he's crossed his swords over his chest, and his expression! He's clearly my favourite.

Heh, Ferryl was actually named way before I was aware of the whole feral & anthro terms. I decided to leave it though, should get some fun out of the similar sounding word.
Funny that you mention Skyrim! I never though of Skyrim's enchanting. It actually came way back, from a game, Wild Arms 2, where there was a character termed a 'Sword Mage'. My interpretation on that name was a mage channeling magic into the weapons (though the game's one was nothing like that).
Other games have had weapon enchants like this though, I can think of Red Mages in Final Fantasy XI.

Thanks! Hehe, I'd be too busy cocking my AK to run. XD I did actually do a couple anthros...last month or so - the dragon then the winged wolf - with normal lightsabers, but no double-sabers yet, hehe.
