Description
~~~It's plausible that I would title something so randomly. 8D
More of the new style - I also couldn't remember the last time I drew a tiger.
Please pick and critique this - not necessarily anatomy or whatever, but the shading. That's the new thing for me.
Didn't think I could draw big cats, did ya'? XD
Enjoy!
Art (c) me.
Rippers will be ripped apart!
Well, I cant say anything about anatomy and that stuff, but I think you should keep in mind that not all animals are muscles->flesh. They have some fat too and I think your muscles are a bit overshaded here, making the kitty look somehow... weird. But I still love it!
Ha-ha, yeah - I focused pretty solely on his shading rather than realism/anatomy stuff. Thanks!
Very well done in shading department as a beginner. You just need a few more variants in shading parts and finding where your light source is. Where your light source could greatly help in shading.
Thanks! This was really just a stylistic exercise anyway.
Thanks! Eh, kinda,' maybe. XD I didn't really think of his eyes and face - just focusing more on the shading than anything.
Actually, I really LIKE the shading - the color choices, particularly. The blue-purple sets off the orange nicely, giving us some dark shadows while still harmonizing with the boldness of the orange highlights.
Thanks! I like this style 'cause I can work with different colours and keep them soft. ^^
The shading is a little odd to me, to hash in some places, like that back leg, well both legs really, making the muscles look a little weird.
Yeah, I focused on the shading rather than realism/anatomy - his muscles really seem to pop.
ZOMG IT'S GORGEOUS WANT.
It seems a little weird to me that there should be shadows on his back unless the light's coming at his tummy in which case unless you're trying to make him look a little scrawny, the shadows when his stomach moves into his ribcage probably shouldn't be nearly so dark.
Thanks!
Yeah, I kinda' didn't make him fat enough in general. o3o I like him ripped, but it's not...realistic-enough, I guess. I focused more on the shading than anything else.
Tiiiiiiiger! How do you do that style? Is it a texture brush in just two colors? Do you use opacity setting?
TwilightSaint In reply to mare-of-night [2011-01-05 03:22:28 +0000 UTC]
Solid colour base and highlighted with the colours, so there's no 'real' shading. I use a separate texture brush underneath all of the 'colourlights' when I'm done. ^^ I use no settings at all!
