Description
Story and description to come later.Dear Lord, it's been so long since I've drawn Stella...
Edit: Well, I suppose now is a good a time as ever to jot down my story here. It has a kind of ending feel to it, which may work for the best what with PMD-E being officially closed. I certainly do not plan on getting rid of these characters; they've been such a prominent part of my creative life for the past... three-ish years!! Sheesh!
Double Edit: Just to clarify, in case you all haven't seen PK's recent art contributions to the PMD-E page, Event8 would have consisted of dead team members coming back from the Past during a Festival of sorts. Click here to see what happened to him... fav.me/d6ncllc Ren's a ghost here, guys. Sorry.
Enough with the chit-chat, there are notes and comments for that type of thing. On with the writing...

So far, many teams had already been reunited with their missing teammates. Their various missions and duties in the Past were apparently successful: Jasmine recovered, and was able to bring them back to the Present. That being said, she was far from uniform in her Pokémon replacement. Some appeared back in Tao weeks, maybe even months, before others. Once certain Mightyena was still missing, and his Team leader had given up hope.
Stellaluna was never one to be optimistic. After coming to Tao, she was utterly surprised by the hospitality and sincere kindness of some Pokémon, and made her first true friends. Her defensive wall began to crumble, and she was happy. She had comrades who supported her, a mate, and most importantly, she felt she was part of a family for the first time in her life. But in the months after the Kyurem incident, that all changed.
The Celebi, Jasmine, was captured by a Zoroark, and the Guilds were charged with aiding in her rescue. The Ninetales was adamant in her decision to not go and help. “You can’t trust Zoroark, she’s probably leading us to a trap! I’m not going, and I forbid either of you two from going either.” she had commanded her teammates. The Mightyena reluctantly agreed, and took the toddling young Totodile out for a “stroll around town.” Stellaluna soon realized what they were truly up to, but it was far too late. She arrived in the forest, panting from lack of breath, only to find hectic confusion. Pokémon were missing. Not dead, not injured, they’d simply… disappeared. To her relief, Stella found the young Totodile and scooped her up. Her partner though, Renegade, was nowhere to be found. Teams returned to their homes, anxious for answers.
This is when the wall came back up, fierce and impenetrable as ever. The vixen was already edgy from lack of proper sleep, but her foul mood was amplified as her only family was torn apart. She was hostile and nasty, snapping at passerby for minor “transgressions” (which most often involved simply looking at the fox). She relapsed into depression, but showed a facade of anger rather than one of despair. The youngster saw her pain for what it really was; Anima sometimes awoke in the middle of the night to hear her “mother” crying. It really shook her to her core. Though the loss of her mate hit her hard (and it wasn’t just him, his entire team vanished), it was evident that she mourned most Renegade.
Much of Stella’s rage was vented towards the Merchant Guild. After all, it was their leader’s fault for everything that had gone wrong with the village. When PK’s sister came from Alomomola to claim Tao in her absence, the white Ninetales was more than happy to forcibly evict Shroomsworth and the others from the Merchant Hut.
Once the change in ownership had taken place, Stellaluna lost momentum fast. There were no more big missions to complete, and very few of the various “tasks” caught her attention for long. She began to frequent the Spinda Café more and more, drowning her feelings in alcohol. She never worried about her child, however; Anima was a deep sleeper, and would always sleep safe in their apartment throughout the night… or so she thought.
Stella left the Café one night after some drinking, and made her way back to their apartment. She lazily traversed the stairs and found her room. She froze, hairs on the back of her neck standing up. It wasn’t completely shut. Taking a couple of breaths, she then laid a paw on the door and silently pushed it open. Stepping inside, she closed it with her tails. It only got worse when she looked-
A large dark mass laid on her bed, where her precious baby should have been. She began to growl deeply, baring her teeth, ready to defend her home. Just then, the shape moved, almost yelping with a startled voice, “Luna, is that you?”
Her heart leapt into her throat. It- it couldn’t be…
The shape moved again, stretching out a limb and tapping a small lamp on the end table. Bathed in the low, yellow light, Stella finally saw her intruder fully. His fur was medium length, the color of honey. A large section of the chocolate-colored mane (especially on the back of his neck) seemed to be shaved off, as there were numerous bandages wrapped around his throat. Though some seemed new, a bit of blood could be seen staining others. His red and blue eyes were uncharacteristically tired, almost pitiful, as if he had suffered terrible trauma. It was him, her first team member, her first companion, her family.
“Ren…” she exhaled, barely audible, tears pooling in her eyes, falling freely down her face. She began to tremble; her breaths uneven. “What happened?”
Slipping down off of the bed, he nuzzled her neck. “I got cut during battle. It really isn’t as bad as it seems; I’ll be fine with rest.” His voice was weak. To be honest, it was as bad as it looked: he nearly bled out on the battlefield. If it hadn’t been for Kyoko and the others, he would have died right then and there, but… He then lifted his head and licked the tears from her cheek. Her lashes fluttered with a chill, and she still looked at him with disbelief; he was like a ghost. “Let’s go to bed, okay?” he suggested, gently putting pressure on her with his shoulder, guiding her to the mattress.
Stella stepped up onto the bed, taking her usual place next to her sleeping child. Renegade followed suit, laying his head next to hers, and gave her a warm smile. He closed his eyes and sighed, “Everything’s going to be alright.”
For the first time since Mission 4, Stellaluna slept without having a nightmare.

If PMD-E were to have continued, he would have stayed around for the duration of the Event 8 festival, and then faded back into the Past along with all the other ghosts.
I will be bringing him back for PMDU, though.
