You've managed this very well, very well indeed. Everything's so fine about this. The colouring brings out her proportions and shape more, particularly that of her arms, legs and the vest. Somehow, you managed to bring out her beauty even more than her normal attire - the red uniform makes for such a lovely accent together with her purple bikini and orange-yellow body and hair colours. And that hair... you did manage to make it look somewhat wet but still keep her gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous signature shape there. And it's some of the poofiest, fluffiest, curliest Adagio hair I've ever seen. Her holding that lifesaver rope manages to be even better than the megaphone idea because it shows off her lovely delicate hand so well, and while her fingers look a little short, it's still a great sight. Her other arm looks a little bit strange with its position now that you've coloured it, but not particularly - it looks like you caught her in mid-motion somehow, with her hand looking like it would belong on her hip or with her arm a bit differently angled. Regardless, you've really managed it well here with the colour accents. The red frames her beautifully and directs our eyes to all the right places, once again. And the orange whistle on her neck helps with attention-centering, as well. My favourite parts, though, are her eyes and her legs, and the way her vest is halfway soaked. Her eyes carry the expression of the piece, making all of her pose feel coherent if I look into them, and very very Adagio, as well. And the legs... the way the water is on them, oh... oh...

Well, like always, I go straight to the cons, I do think there is something wrong with her right arm, it doesn't go that way, but eh.. *shrugs*.. as usual, it doesn't really matter for me about how I draw, I don't try to get better at it, anyway..! In this case, I only try to see if I get the hair right..! Referring to the original design, sometimes it's a bit difficult for me to figure out how their hairs go, with simplicity like that, like Pinkie's hair for example.. heheheh..!
Now, about the pros, well, frankly, it's all unintentional.. I don't really think about the colors, not that much anyway; I know lifeguard's uniform is red, sometimes with yellow or orange stripe, that's where I got the idea to color the whistle orange..! You already know that purple is Adagio's outfit main color.. but yeah, it somehow goes well with red lifeguard uniform..! Her expression.. well, I was using this image as a reference when I sketch this.. So again, it's Adagio herself that is beautiful, no matter how I draw her..!
Still, if you like the way water on her legs.. well.. yeah.. that one was me.. so.. if you like it.. then.. uhh.. I'm sorry.. eheheheheh..!

Nope, I didn't look at your main page for a little bit. And I've been replying to your comments directly in their own windows. So suddenly, I open up your page and boom, gorgeous Adagio in full colour looking at me. True, she's looking disapprovingly, but still... A-a-adagio... ahhh.
Yeah, hair like Ponka's or Adagio's is extremely hard to render "realistically" without altering their style so that they defy physics less. But you still did well, and certainly did justice to her movie self. And you don't have to do it any more intricately if you don't feel like it, after all.
I don't think it's unintentional - it's just your feel for colours. You don't need to think of it much, you just pick the one that works well. And as I always said, yes, Adagio is beautiful - but it doesn't automatically mean that any picture of her will accurately portray that beauty, it takes skill and talent to do so. I'm sure you cannot argue with that - just browse some of the unskilled, beginner drawings. And no, yours are not it in the slightest. But yes, it's a good reference you picked.
And the water on her legs... it's just wonderful, it makes me think... very siren thoughts. I think she would love to hear them, but you wouldn't. The water accentuates her hips just right and helps the eye see just how shapely her lower body is, her wonderful curves, as well as show the apparent smoothness of her skin. It's... a generous gift in and of itself. So, you shouldn't be sorry. You should be thanked, because I love it.

I think it does need a little bit of experience to be able to draw any char beautifully..! Ah well, the reference helped me portraying Adagio's beauty, so I think that's the key in my case here..! Ahahaha..!

Well, she IS Adagio. Much of what she does and is is intended to make me love her that way... and she's wildly successful. I'm always under her spell. She has me whenever she wants and however she wants. I can't do anything about her, it's just how she is.
I understand the feeling of wishing to make the hair look as good as possible. In the end, you care about your pictures - more so than just not putting any effort into it, eh? 
Well, all fan art works from a reference - if not directly, then from an existing character anyway. But that doesn't diminish the other parts of what you, yourself, mention in the slightest - your natural talent with colours and the experience and skill at drawing. So Adagio is beautiful, but only your skill and talent can properly reproduce her beauty here.
As for siren thoughts... well, I could tell you, but they're the kind Adagio would possibly like to hear from an adoring minion of hers. Not sure she would go through with them, but who knows what mood strikes her. It's kind of like what I said there, just much more so. So if you don't want to be scared, I won't tell! Also, there is nothing to be sorry for, again! It's lovely and I really, really don't want you to not do things this way.

Well, I don't know what kind of adoration she desires, but yeah, she is Adagio alright..!
And, I like challenge..! And when I have to draw something as mysterious as her hair, as in how her hair goes.. I'd feel challenged..! Drawing the line art of her hair was quite easy, but coloring it was quite a challenge, so if I get it right then I'd feel accomplished..! I didn't really make her hair wet, so I'll try to do it in the next pic of her..!
And, well, in my case of drawing Adagio here, I was just directly following the reference; her expression, her swimsuit color, and everything else.. again, if I get it right, it's just because the original design of Adagio is already good and I don't deviate from it.. even this simple drawing still looks good, and quite funny..! Different from Sunny's case, which I clearly "escaped the norm" of her original design..!
Again, I don't know what kind of adoration Adagio desires, her deadly voice? killer curves of her body? something more? Ah well, whatever it is, she is an idol, and that's what an idol does..! Well, enjoy it to the fullest then..!

She is Adagio alright. And she can have any kind of my adoration.
I'm happy that you still like to undertake some challenges even if you said you don't want any improvements in your style. You did get it right, this time for certain (though I'd go without white highlights in her hair next time, as they make it look plastic, and use more diffuse highlights and shading of dark tones instead; her hair is best when it's not overly glossy, at least because it would be a pain to draw in detail otherwise, and the darks would make it look wet). And yay! I'm looking forward to that! Don't feel pressured by that, though; you know that it's not an expectation thing with me when I'm looking forward to something!
Well, I suppose that drawing is a bit funny. And while its anatomy is okay (though the proportions feel too small compared to the head size), your style is much more pleasant and refined and shows much more natural talent, artistically speaking. And well, Sunny's case demonstrates that, yes, you can deviate from references just fine and still make beautiful characters, so... the reference point is kind of rendered moot by this. Again, it's the artist's ability to render that matters most; it did so with the original creators of the characters, and it does so with you the fan artist.
Adagio is not just an idol, she's not a nice one. And one a lot freer and more independent than the reality of the term "idol". In terms of adoration, it's not the things she is adored for, it's how she would like the adoration to be displayed... but I'll leave that to her, as I can't speak for her. She'd be the one doing the enjoying whatever the case.
I'm not going to strike you there, though. I'm going to give you a health-up heart! *+20 HP*

And yes, I just feel like doing it.. And no, I'm going to keep such highlight and shadow in my drawing for the hair.. it may look plastic-y here because I applied soft shading to her body, while usually I simply apply hard shading.. geh, I must get back to that shading style..! And if it doesn't really matter for you, then I'll use that shading style.. but if it does, then I'll change it for the upcoming pic..!
Anyway, yeah it does feel so, the anatomy thing.. but again it's just technical skills and both me and him change nothing from the original design.. but yeah, maybe I do have more experience than him in terms of it.. who knows..! Maybe that also explains Sunny's case, how I deviated from the original design, yet still has features from it.. who knows..!
Of course we would know that she's more than just an idol.. but if I'm one of the audience there, the background humans.. I wouldn't know what's gotten into me, I wouldn't know that I'm being under her spell..! I'd just think that's what an idol does, and just adore her so..! Though I still wouldn't know what kind of adoration she actually wanted..

Oh, if you like it this way, you can do it! I loved how it looked on Sonata, so I think you can manage it well anyway. And yes, there's a lot less shadow on sweet 'Dagi up there, it may be one of the reasons why it feels different as the shadows on Sonata were more pronounced. Though, to be fair, this soft shading is a lot more realistic when it comes to portraying shadows, due to diffuse light. But it does accentuate the subject less.
Maybe it does, but still, Sunny does prove that changing things and not going off a reference still works well in your case. While she looked exactly like Sunset at the start, you did make her different as time passed, and it still works, not any worse than it did.
True, I wouldn't know what got into me either, though I would feel quite taken by Adagio even without the magic, even despite her quite unabashedly vicious intentions and actions (goodness, if Adagio and Twilight ever make it into our fics, it'd be "the incredible not-love life of Starbright" - Sunset, Sunny, Adagio, Twi... maybe even Flutters, given how unintentionally care-provoking it's been for him in regards to her, and not a chance to even be serious friends with any of them, let alone shippy - in short, just like my own life). And the spell would only ensure that. I wouldn't want to actually love her, but, well, that's just the siren attraction, and she manages to hit many of the most effective points with me. And of course, no-one would know what she'd want unless she came to have us do it, whatever that may be. And we wouldn't be able to refuse if we'd be under her spell. Though things would be more interesting if we wouldn't be.

Yes, it does feel like the shadow on Dagi here is a bit less contrast compared to the Sonata drawing, maybe I set the level of highlight and shadow too close to each other..!
Ahaha.. well, I'm quite glad the change I gave to Sunset design didn't turn out bad.. back then when EG was just released, I saw someone tried to change the design because he felt the Sunset character was dull, but then some people stated that his design was even worse.. heheh..!
Well, as I said before, not only the design but I changed the character too.. it was supposed to be Sunset at the beginning, but because I deviated too much I then changed it to Sunny, a kind of "Sunset but not Sunset" character, and intentionally made her taller to even more differentiate her from Sunset..!
Aye that we wouldn't, be it with or without magic, there are some people who actually would get taken by the Dazzlings performance..! I mean, that's how it is in real world..! There are some people that are really taken by idol groups..!
**Hey, you're right.. our fic, (well, the canon EG world itself, even with the ever so obvious title) is dominated by female characters.. Any male characters would just feel like something that just there for the sake of being there.. hahah.. do we need to add main male characters, other than Starbright himself to even things out..?
