I often wondered how this sort of thing would work.Β I had something in mind.
2. I presume you heard of a series called H20.Β Β
A group of youngsters goes to an island off the coast of the mainland town they live in that few people ever do on account of the place being largely unexplored, uninhabited and undeveloped by sentient life, and thus potential hazards are everywhere.Β They discover a cavern with a natural pool in it, one of them slips and falls in and it immediately begins to bubble and foam, but not boil.Β As it's heating up, their lives are about to take a turn for the weird and never be the same again.Β Β
The series goes out of its way to kill any notion that these are fish.Β They are not; they are mammals like all others.Β They all practice holding their breath, and without much training reveal their lung capacity lets them do it for fifteen minutes easy, longer if they put themselves to it.Β One of them nearly drowns when she gets snagged on something.Β And of course mammaries, which they all have, just like most humans do.
3. I imagine a similar principle is in play elsewhere.Β Only there's no morphing abilities voluntary or involuntary.Β
I imagine Sunny to wear long dresses that would drag on the floor were she not sitting in a wheelchair.Β Roll herself about in it with long dresses or skirts or even a comforter to keep everything covered up.Β And be restricted from going anywhere she cannot wheel unless she's willing to crawl and slither, which could get things filthy, or throw independent motion to the wind and have someone carry her.Β How many places must be foregone, simply not be tread upon?Β
4. When she agreed to trade places, was it immediately agreed upon upfront that it would only be temporary and they'd switch back soon?
Or did they made the agreement simply to do so period with no mention of duration or "When"?Β
