Okay! So, here's my character Rit, for ~RewriteTournament !
Name: Rit
Age: 2-and-some years old (about 18 in human years)
Gender: Female
Species: Hyena
Likes:
Fedoras and trench coats, though she can't exactly wear them that often...
Sarcasm.
Dislikes:
Jackals (she gets called a jackal a lot by witless people).
Disney (for stereotyping hyenas (The Lion King) and over-exaggerating with The Hunchback of Notre Dame).
People who stereotype hyenas as canines who laugh too often. Just to disprove them, she doesn't laugh, unless it's sarcastic.
Personality: A rather light canine, Rit is happy enough to talk to just about anyone. She's an enjoyable friend to be around, and you can have some hilarious times with her. If you get on her bad side, however, you're in for a tough time. A frequent user of sarcasm, Rit's tone will take on a razor edge if she's pissed. She'll become impossible to deal with, and that's exactly what she aims for. Usually her grudges won't last too long.

If there's one thing that irks her the most, it's the generalization that hyenas laugh. Sure, she'll chuckle at a funny joke or witty remark, but this canine goes out of her way to never laugh otherwise. And if someone becomes bold enough to jest at her for it, they'll find her fangs sunken into their throat within a split second. Watch out for that temper...

History: Growing up in the wild has done nothing to hinder Rit's connaissance of the modern world. Quite the opposite, in fact. Her small pack of wild dogs often would raid the nearest town of its technology and advanced appliances, hording them (somewhere) within the packlands. The band of canines were very talented, and a few generation back had learned how each part worked, and have been developing technology of their own.

During one of the raids, Rit was separated from the rest of the pack, and found herself in unfamiliar territory. She soon realized, however, that she was NOT in the same realm that she had come from. It was then that she began to suspect that something was going on. After a few more world changes, she confronted The Writer, and was at that moment a part of the Game.

Strengths/Weaknesses/Weapons:
Weaknesses: Rit has a strong case of Lyssophobia (fear of becoming rabid). Anything that could potentially mean rabies freaks her out, be it frothy whipped cream or a deranged squirrel.

She also has an unexplained obsession with boomerangs and will do anything to get one, such as the way a dog would go for a tennis ball.

Strengths/Weapons: Being canine, she has very strong jaws and sharp fangs that she can use to rip a target to shreds. But that's something normal for any animal who hunts. But Rit didn't come from a normal wild lifestyle: her advanced pack of dogs had actually developed a weapon that they used to help them in raids. Every member had one, and when Rit was 'abducted' into the Writer's games, she still had hers.

The weapon in question is a small laser-like device that acts as an electricity detector. On raids, it was used to locate high concentrations of current, and then doubled to cut the circuit and allow the pack to steal the device. The small laser doesn't do much in hand-to-hand combat, but it can be used to find sources of electricity. If there were to be an enemy that relied on electronics, they'd be in some serious trouble.
