"Hmmm, yes, the “Imp”, also known as “Devils” or “Demons” to some primitive civilizations. Imps seemingly spawned from the Sea of Souls and are part of the Flexile family. These creatures nestled their way in the deep underground regions of Materia. They can also be found near planetary cores in the outer stars, but they always seem to be able to travel freely between realms. Most species cannot survive the overwhelming depths unless they have some sort of power suit. Hence the extreme depths of Materia obtained the nickname of “hell”, but I assure you it has its own ecosystem and isn’t some “spiritual” place despite its inhabitants.

Imps usually like to carve out the underworld with gigantic structures both underwater and in less submerged areas. Let it be the lush and dangerous jungles of hell or the devastating lava and rocky caverns, these creatures are all over the place. Despite these creatures being mostly water-based, they seem to lack gills or anything that would allow them to swim gracefully through the water. Like most other members of the Flexile Family, it is not uncommon to see Imps devouring others and evolving from it. However, the over consumption of said creatures usually devolves them into a primal and malformed state. Most of these monsters are outcasted by the imps and are hunted for sport.

Imps are usually pretty wild and free, only listening to things that are “giant” or “strong” as the largest and most powerful are known as “Royal Imps” as they are known to grow as tall as skyscrapers! Some rumors say their god makes up the entire ocean floor of Materia... Although, I think that’s just rubbish! Who would actually believe in something as silly as that? Just because ghosts and spirits exist doesn't mean I have to believe in their god." ~Commander Proto

Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! It's certainly been a while since I've done one of these, but... I thought it would be nice to give out some more explanations, flesh out the flexile family just a bit more, and finally both explain hell and imps all in one log! It's about time these fellas got their own data-log, and don't you worry, there will be way more explanations and logs to come! I actually redid this one a few times as I felt it was too bright and colorful, annnnnd... Well, I wanted to give a theme of "deep under the ocean" or "this is written on a forgotten and eldritch tablet" sort of vibe
