My entry into the dark Feelings Contest [link] held by;This took a few hours, im quite happy with how it turned out.... i think these lyrics are apt for the piece as she is slowly turning to dust, being disintegrated by the harsh lights of reality...
"She knows the human heart
And how to read the stars
Now everything's about to fall apart"

Hm this is a very beautiful work, the use of light and contrast is great. She looks surrendered to the light moving into and around her, its quite interesting. My only critique would be of the earth, although its light blue does attract a lot of attention, and thus gives the girl attention as she is in front of it, it almost seems just a shade too bright and so looks more pasted on in comparison to the rest which turns and blends naturally, just take it back a little. I may be wrong but I think it would give a nice effect. Overall, great image.

I do understand what Galerian-wolf is saying in regards to the blue, and he is right, but regardless, do have a look, if it doesn't work keep it as it is because it is certainly beautiful.

My good man, I do not see what he is talking about, but to me I follow the out going in. Of course the blue Earth is going to highlight her, I think she is part of the focal point. My girlfriend says she is the focal point. The beauty of all the colors brings your art to be enjoyed in its whole. If a person's eyes focuses into one thing, then you not truly enjoying the whole.
The rest of what it is called the Maelstrom, compliments her pose and how you placed her into your drawing, and the blue Earth well to me its saying, presenting the Lady in the Maelstrom. But, that's just me.

Very very nice piece. I love the body being echoed by the mist. All the color really ads to the power of this piece. Really gives it a feeling of its own.

Actually, I really like it. It was the most striking piece I saw when I first glanced at your page. The interaction between lightning and the swirls behind the figure really say "maelstrom" to me, which is one reason it caught my attention. I simply love the colours and textures and the large circle of blue helps centre attention on the subject. My only critique is that the foot directly beneath the figure looks off somehow. I'm sure you took it from a photo with a different background, but unfortunately, it looks it in that one place. All in all, though, I really like this one. ^_^
