I was invited to a fancy dress birthday party.So me being me, I decided I'd make my costume. Or at least the part I didn't have, anyway. I wore some of my own clothes, borrowed some other clothes and accessories and accessories, and made the breastplate myself.
I chose to go as Ray McCall, from the Call of Juarez video games. Which meant making a breastplate.

I wish they'd have made more of them! I never got round to playing the third game, but the modern-day setting put me off after enjoying the first two so much. Maybe one day...

Haha I'm one of those people that can't just buy a fancy dress costume for £5, but have to make one up myself instead, so I can make it exactly how I like (within reason, the materials you can find/afford come into the equation too). It took me long enough to make, but I was happy with the result. It's a shame I didn't have more ammo belts and other bits and bobs to make the costume more accurate. I've gotten hold of some spent shotgun cartridges so might try to make a bandolier with them for the next time this costume comes out.
Amongst other things, I do have a big interest for cowboy/western things, for which there seems to be quite a shortage of games of the genre. I played the first two Call of Juarez games last summer and thoroughly enjoyed them, nearly always choosing to play as Ray, I love the character, he's great. When I decided I'd go to that party as a cowboy, naturally he was the first to come to mind - I was actually a little surprised that nobody else seemed to have done it before me.
I came across a lot of your artwork when looking on google for reference pictures to get the outfit right, and it's actually one of yours that helped out for a lot of it
