My family is screwed over as all hell, and I think so are a lot of people's families. Personally I have a lot of trouble knowing I'm related to some of the people that I am, and quite frankly, I'm embarrassed. My family holds onto grudges like it's their life line, which causes relationships to be messy; there's always someone angry at someone else and it never ends. Children are born when no one wanted them to be, couples split, and lives are messed up.Recently, I've come to the realization that just because my family's past isn't the best that doesn't mean I have to let their legacy define me. And as much bad stuff gets thrown around, I still love my family. Even if I can't stand being around them, they're still my family. And they're all I got.

In my family happens the same thing. Yet, with all these years over thinking it, I ended up in the same conclusion of yours: they are my family and that's all I have.
