No, it's not a fire hazard, that is exactly how my bed looks, my bed has bean like this for 4 months, it's safe.

It can become a fire hazard if the lights get too hot, christmas lights all have a different temperatures though, I have them on my bunkbed as well and they get really hot if I leave them on for too long.

Mine are on all the time and never get hot, I guess it depends on what kind/ brand you buy, mine are lED's as apposed to coloured bulbs, so that could be the reason
