Thank you! This was definitely a work of love. I would love to meet her to get the original autographed one day.

Thank you for the compliment! I hope to have more up soon, though I have only one more really good portrait that I'm waiting to get a copy of from my friend in Denmark that I did of her son. I have other portraits I've done, but they're not as good...

I have worked as an illustrator for 35 years. Everything I do now is digital. You have to look at every new piece as being better than your last, because your skills improve with each piece you do. You have a great talent that you will hone with practice. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you for the kind words. Sketching I've never been good at, but these were done with a grid, so really, isn't that cheating? lol Still, Mia took almost a month or so to complete, mostly because I would work on it for a couple hours a day, no more. I did that so I wouldn't get burnt out on it. It almost worked! lol I only got burnt out after it was done...for two years or so!

Wow, absolutely stunning!
And you're telling me you can't draw organic things, only schematics? TwoWolves, my friend, you're way too humble about your skill. I see that you'll do very well at your art university.  Looks almost like a photograph! The highlights on her hair really turned out gorgeously and I love the lips. And noses...I never seem to get them right, but you've managed to draw hers perfectly. I'm sure Mia would love this stunning drawing, too. Going straight to my faves.

This was a labor of love. To me, Mia Maestro is the absolute epitome of feminine beauty. This drawing took almost a month, and nearly broke me. I stopped drawing for about two years after this because it took so much out of me. One day, I hope to have Ms. Maestro autograph the original. I believe the ad was for Movado, though it might have been Bulova. Either way, at the time, I tried contacting them about buying the photographer's rights to this photo and getting the original. Got no response.
