So I am officially fangirl trash for the game Detroit: Become Human. Stories about artificial intelligence and if they are alive and the human condition fascinate me.

And of course, I have fanfic ideas because it's me. I really want to write a human/android love story and explore all the issues mentioned above. And... I may have already started to write it because I do this thing almost every January where I just go rogue from my usual projects and write something completely off the rails. Sometimes it eventually gets posted online, sometimes it doesn't. This will probably go up. I'm already 3 chapters in and not losing my stamina yet.

The premise is a private company purchases one of the previously damaged RK800 "Connor" models and modifies him to be a bodyguard. So this is not the actual Connor from the game, but one of his predecessors. Though this Connor and the one from the game will probably run into each other at some point in the story. (To those who like to read my stuff just because I write it, this will read a lot like original fiction. You won't need to have played the game to get what is going on. Playing the game will have just given you a little insight as to what events would be coming up.)

This also fascinates me because he is still Connor even if he is not one of the models that appear in the game. He has the same programming and much of the same memories until he was damaged and another Connor took his place. So he still has all the cuteness and badassery that comes with being Connor. I've had a lot of fun writing it so far. I'm still not entirely satisfied with drawing him yet, though. But this attempt was better than my last one. I'm getting better.
