Aaaand here's another one. Cuz it's Cute Girls and Hot Androids Week on my DBH Tumblr blog. (And I'm pretty much the only one celebrating, but a Me Party is still a party, yes?)Here’s Connor with my OC Samantha from my Chicago/Bodyguard!Connor fic. Samantha never tells herself no when it comes to Connor. When she decides she's in, she is all in.
I do like me a good slow burn, but I don't like backtracking when the characters have made it clear they are into each other. You like each other, just get to it. I like writing about two people in love trying to make their odd relationship work, but they clearly care about each other and that part is not the issue. It also leaves the plot open to fit in all the sexy times I want.

It's not about being nice. That kind of see-sawing just isn't what I enjoy writing. My stories always have way too much plot for those shenanigans. I feel like holding back the romance slows down the momentum of the story and can make your readers lose interest. Though I can't say I've felt that frustration with your fic. Kate does tend to avoid her problems rather than facing them, but the story hasn't back-slided just to protract the slow burn. I still feel like the story is moving forward as are the characters in their development. There's just a lot of outside forces interfering with any opportunity for them to have the real conversation they need to have.
And I am looking forward to it because I really enjoy how you write those conversations when characters are discussing difficult or awkward issues.
