Description
“On your feet, Kyanite.” The Commander’s voice was monotone hiss as she stood over the crumpled body that lay at her feet.
The smaller gem she was addressing, however, did not obey her command right away. She was on the ground, a battered mess of tears, bruises, and exhaustion. She didn’t want to get up. She knew what would happen if she did, but she also couldn’t. Her body physically couldn’t move. It was a wonder she was still even holding a physical form, she was so battered.
Everything hurt; from her body to her aching soul.
But Commander Serpentine always found ways of keeping her from retreating back into her gem too soon, and right now, she was not having this…
Without warning, the gem was yanked upwards to her feet by her hair, making her yelp out of instinct, which she immediately regretted. Though she was now standing, the grip on her indigo colored locks did not let go.
She suddenly began to tremble as her body tensed, waiting to be beaten around like a ragdoll again… But nothing happened.
“Look at me, child.”
She heard that terrifying voice again, only this time, it was right up against her ear.
She flinched and froze for a moment. And after two, long, agonizing moments, she gathered the courage to finally open her eyes and look into the fiery glare of her mentor.
Though her face looked relaxed and calm, her eyes held the piercing anger that burned within her.
“…Kyanite, this is twice you have disobeyed my orders. I have been gracious enough to let it go just once, but this is your last warning, so do not test my patience, child. Now, if you do not cease that pathetic whimpering this instant, I will make you hurt more than you are now, and I will make sure that you will feel this pain even after you regenerate. Do you understand me, Kya?”
Kyanite began to tremble as she managed to nod her head, even though the Commander’s grip on her hair did not make it easier.
“Y-yes…C-Commander Se-Serpentine….I-I promise I w-won’t disobey you again! I s-swear I won’t!” She croaked out, her voice hoarse from screaming.
The Commander’s expression did not change, as it remained deadpanned and cold, “Good. I will hold you to that promise…”
She then released her from her death grip, letting her drop to the ground in a defeated heap as the fallen gem tried to get back on her feet.
“I had expected better out of you, my dear. I only do this because I care, yet you refuse to understand that…”
“N-no! I-I mean…I-I do understand…y-you’re d-doing this for me…” Kya stuttered out, having regained her footing and now standing on her own, albeit shakily. The Commander’s thin eyebrows rose ever so slightly in subtle amusement and curiosity before she looked down at her expectantly.
“Is that so, my dear? Then tell me again Kyanite; who do you fight for?”
“….H-Homeworld.”
“What must you do to become a real soldier?”
“…C-cast aside all my u-unnecessary bonds w-with other g-gems.”
“And why is that?”
“B-because they c-cause w-weakness a-and…they o-only hold you b-back…”
“And most of all….To who and where does your loyalty lie?”
“H-Homeworld, and t-the Diamonds, C-Commander…”
“…Very good, my dear…but tell me… to whom else does your loyalty lie with most of all…?”
Kyanite seemed paused for a moment, eyes averted from her mentor’s prying gaze before she answered in a shaky, defeated whisper;
“Y-you…C-Commander Serpentine…”
The Commander’s stoic expression suddenly morphed into a soft smirk before she extended her hand and grabbed Kya’s face, the Commander’s fingers holding it in their firm, and almost painful grasp. Her face was now just inches from the young gem’s as she said in a low, malicious hiss;
“…Very good, my love, very good... Your loyalty belongs to me most of all…and so do you, my dear, sweet, little Kyanite.”
{{This is the colored version of this--> tydyerabbit.deviantart.com/art… But with this, I added dialogue, and this just gives you a better feel of how these two...interacted. And before you say anything, I know Gems technically don't have blood, but hey, they're able to cry and produce...other kinds of bodily fluids and be bruised up, I just thought, "Eh, screw it, idgaf anymore I'm doing it anyways." Besides, I'm a fucking sadist and like drawing my characters all beat up. I'm so horrible. ;;v;; also I might change up Serpentine's design a bit because it's starting to bug me a little >3>}}
