Description
WIP: [link]FINISHED!
Which is even sillier, because he's sitting right next to me as I post this.

EDIT: Fixed the problem with the neck that was bothering me.
EDIT 2: Fixed the absence of the glare on the glasses, and the annoyance of "shoe" showing through instead of grass when I put the paws in the grass.

Very cool, and well put together. Looks like it could be a real life photograph that hasn't been edited!

That was the hope in creating it.

This is a really beautiful piece
You know, I haven't been around for ages, and I haven't done any art either (can't seem to inspire myself to draw anything), but now I've been (trying to) catch up on my 1000+ deviations and I seriously notice a huge change in your artwork. I see your own style coming out and it's fantastic! Your painting is beautiful! ^_^ *hugs*

Thank you very much! I need to get to work on more pieces... I have a commission to finish, a request to finish, and a Secret Santa project.
I've missed you around, Tigerrrl!

Thank you very much. That was the idea. I take commissions for this sort of thing.

Oh, and a suggestion? It actually would look nicer without the blur feature, and it teaches your eye to fine-tune the drawn part to fit with the rest of it. Try next time.

My sister, =trinitylast , who is a photomanipulator, told me to blur it so that it would feel more painted, like the rest of the piece, without actually having to paint it. I like the blurring effect... It gives it a surreal feel that I was going for.

Well done, though this seems to be a cross between Photomanipulation and a digital painting more than a drawing. But regardless, Excellent work. The facial fur is lovely.

Technically I do most of the background work, since the base image is my photograph

Hee hee, kudos on the photography, I've seen the originals and the framing's quite nice ^x^ Loooooove the framing on the stream one <3

The stream one actually isn't mine. That was taken of him just before I met him. I do believe Guardian is the one to blame......er, thank for that one ^.^

Bah, I seem to have put my paw in my mouth, then ^x^; I have a real love for all things water which is why I chose to gush on that one instead of this one, which is real catchy with the layout too ^x^

Aww, don't worry about suffering from paw-in-mouth syndrome with me I just want to make sure that credit is given where credit is due.
If you like water shots, though, I have a lot of that in my gallery. Most of my ocean shots are from O'ahu, but they're still rather interesting

Oh, the horror! *mock recoil* your ocean shots are from one of the most beautiful places in the world! *dives in*

I know, huh? I'm just so evil, taking photos of a place like that!

I'm actually doing very little to the backgrounds... Running them through a blur filter so they feel more like the rest of the piece, and covering over any stray bits of human that show through.

*snickers* Yes well it's quite nice how you rub out the humans XD Seriously, though, I've tried some photo background alteration to make it fit better, and I seriously failed at it. But it looks like you found just the right effect filter ^x^

tygerwolfe In reply to HuntressLight [2007-09-07 18:12:51 +0000 UTC]
It's not a filter, actually. I copy the area right next to the human onto a layer by itself, then move it over them to cover them.

You've buried them! Muah!
I meant the blurring you did. Filter might not be the right word. I felt like throwing out a semi-random word XD I tried doing different lighting settings, blurs, movements, blah blah blah on the Kitsune-girl pic I did a bit back, where I used a photo background. Couldn't get em to match up well.
