Loving these early life renders! Such beautiful countryside to be riding through. Again, such clear affection between the characters shown by their actions and expressions!

Awe!! Looks like someone is going to have some fun for a ride for his birthday. Perhaps a hunt? Beautiful soft muted colors in this and I love the outfits you have chosen they compliment the characters well. Nice coat textures on the horses too. I'm rather fond of the grullo coats, but the Percheron is spot on for this type of setting and era in history! Endearing work for sure!! I hope he has a wonderful outing full of fun and adventure!Β

Thanks. I really LOVE the HW horse though I've started adding in the Daz horse here and there on occassion. But the HW horse is still my go-to. Everyone involved in its creation has done some very impressive work, especially Laurie. I own the horse breeds minus one or two of the newest breeds I believe. One thing I need to do is create a rough leather texture set for the saddles. They are too perfect and clean looking for my tastes and I didn't do a great job on roughing them up in Photoshop.

Β I fell in LOVE with the HW horse first time I saw him. If .......... such things happen. LOL There is a difference between him and the Daz horse 2 in the eyes and a few of the sculpted areas around the muzzle, legs, and hooves. Harry the HW horse has a kindness in the eyes.......... almost a light or a persona. Daz horse not so much. Like that deer image, it's like he's saying hello. Yeah, Laurie, Chris, and Paul all did a fabulous job on him.Β  I own all of them except ..... the Kelpie and Skelehorse by Sparky. I just recently picked up the Kirin when they had their last big sale. Well, I just bought a new saddle in November so ......... can't exactly help you out there, but if it helps any, I did put a bug in Laurie's ear about possibly doingΒ  some dirty and rough textures. She's pretty busy right now with a couple more deer coats and settings to go with the antler pack. If you use Ron's powder brushes from Daz, and use like a dirt colored shade you can get a pretty good mud/dirt look instead of the usual white for snow. You can then use the layer styles bevel and emboss to give it more depth. Works fairly well.Β

Yeah, I typically use Ron's Mud brushes and the accompanying styles (but adjusted to remove the gloss). Not sure if I have his Powder brushes or not. I probably do as I have most of Ron's stuff. I also have a rust style for Photoshop which I use for heavy dirty stuff.Β

Ahh I will have to see if I can find that rust style, but may take some tweaking!! Sorry missed this earlier. We are having some bad weather and lost power.Β  I want his fireflies next, but ...... will have to wait. They look like they would be awesome for fairy type renders.Β

ah, I should have provided a link to the rust. It is a Rendo product but I just found the vendor is no longer available. Here's the link anyway to the unavailable item:Β  www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/fu…
Surely there is a similar product somewhere. I actually used this as a guide to create my own saved style to mimic grime and moss growing on stuff. A shame the vendor is no longer around.

NapalmArsenal In reply to TykeyStudios [2019-05-10 01:19:32 +0000 UTC]

Oh very nice styles a shame it's no longer available !! I think there are a few artist that offer styles Antje is one that comes to mind that might have something similar.Β

However, sometimes ........... you want what you want and nothing else will do so you would rather go without than settle !!Β

I can see where that would come in very handy for such things. I know when dealing with plants sometimes it's hard to get the ground cover to look just right without them looking like they are floating or disconnected. So something like that could really tie it all together with the moss and grime setting. Wish the vendor would come back!! I would for sure purchase it!

Another lovely scene, Glen! I love the light and the general color of the image!

And the flowers...and everything actually. hehe I'm loving this series of cute pictures with little Ender!
Awesome job with the poses and expressions of the characters as well, especially the sweet way Abbey looks at her adopted son.

This looks like the calm before the storm (the battle in Atlantis)!!

A little question: They live on the same town as Ramona?

TykeyStudios In reply to Telperion-Studio [2019-04-28 19:50:23 +0000 UTC]

They live in the same general region as Ramona (The family lives in a very outback setting and are many miles away from any village or city). Actually they are quite a few miles from her as well, but they use totems to travel from select places. In an upcoming scene you'll hopefully see Kolin and Ender using the totem at a crossroads (a typical place for a totem to be used). It just depends on whether or not I can show it or fail in my attempts. Ramona will be coming up soon too since this is who they are going to be visiting for little Ender's birthday. BTW, Ender's horse is a birthday gift from Kolin. This is the first time he's seen her. Expressions on Genesis 3 are not always the greatest but I tried my best to not make the little guy look like he had a creepy smile. I seriously worked several evenings on his expression and finally just had to leave alone. *shrug*

His smile is very natural in my opinion. You really did a good job, Glen! ^^

I canΒ΄t wait to see this scene with Kolin and Ender, because iΒ΄m curious about these totens. I always imagine something like the Standing Stones of Skyrim. But I'm probably wrong.Β
Or maybe it's something much smaller.

Also I'm looking forward to see Ramona again! \o/
I think the last time I saw her was in an image with Kludde, if I'm not mistaken.

I think you are correct. It's been a very long time. Certainly over a year ago since I last worked on Ramona. The totems are handheld objects infused with magic. It allows a person/persons to travel from one location to another. The totems work in unison: there must be at least two in order to travel to a specific place and vice versa. Eh, I can't type all this on my phone. I'll maybe explain when the next scene is complete.

Great interaction between the characters. Is there an ongoing storyline behind those pictures?

TykeyStudios In reply to Magnus-Strindboem [2019-04-28 19:42:26 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, Magnus. Yes, there is a storyline behind all the images I work on. They're all part of a larger 'universe' I've been working on for about 12 years now.
