There is a spell in D&D called Parboil which does exactly that. Especially effective against magic user (loss of Intelligence). Alas, each time my wizard has tried it, the opponnent has never failed his saving throw. A pity.

hehe Thanks, Juliana. Yes, it's going to be difficult, but I'm studying similar action scenes to get some inspiration and to see what angles might work. I know how I want it to look and I know what happens, but getting it there will be something of a joyride.
