This is absolutely stunning. This could pass for a movie poster. I wish they would make a movie out of this game, and hire you on the team. You know what you're doing.

I'm trying to find something wonderful to say about this piece, and nothing I'm coming up with does it justice.
This is the way I often picture Lucca looking at a later point in the story. As for Robo, it's one of the best renditions I've ever seen. I love realistic styles like this.

This is just great! Brings back memories.
It looks like Lucca and Robo are in the future when everything was in chaos and ruined. Nice background!
And of course the characters are awesome, great color and details. n..n

Mind If I steal your work? Youtube lets me have free music so if it's on the internet it's free.

Does the print use a higher resolution copy of the image?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Giogiogio4 In reply to ManeatingCouch [2013-10-24 09:58:27 +0000 UTC]
No it doesn't use the image at all. They just use ink to print nothing.

The Print uses whatever file is supplied. So of course it uses a higher rez one.
The same way how itunes or virtual movie previews are lower in rez than the actual product.
The standard for print is 300 and up. any professional would not ever use a web image for print.

If it was digital, I could only assume that you drew it in a higher resolution, but I didn't know.
There is never an "of course", there is only likelihood. To the ignorant, many things are likely.

Web is and has been for the last 10+ years at 72 PPI Web Resolution.
There wouldn't be a point of uploading an image file that's up to and sometimes over 50mbs
And expect it to load within a reasonable amount of time. I Have project files that reach in the 5gbs +.
A Preview is that, a Preview.
If the internet was full of super maxed out images on the pages everything would be slower, Most portable devices wouldn't be able to handle it and people would steal ( eventhough they steal now ). And there wouldn't be a point to even calling an Artist a Profession anymore.

I think internet speeds have gotten faster in the last 10 years.
If that's your official excuse then maybe you should get with the times.
Or is it not your excuse? Doesn't look like it, ok, garbage info, dumping...
That's fine, but do you people actually make much money from selling prints? What, $1k/year? I thought you guys made your money from freelancing (i.e. requests).

Idk how anyone can be as ignorant as yourself. Internet speeds are not that fast all over the world. And web-speeds have nothing to do
with data that is loaded on the screen. Go try to load an 20 uncompressed images that have super have resolutions and come in at about 3gbs
each at 40inches+ in size. I doubt there is even a Tablet on the market that could or would handle it. If the internet was so fast MOVIES with already be preloaded the instant you click on them.
Artist make money off their art. Doesn't matter if it's selling or making them. Just like Movie stars make money off their movies everytime they are on TV or anywhere their image is used.
Someone stealing an image and printing on a 1000 T-Shirts is money the artist doesn't get. Art that was the Only reason the product sells.
Musicians don't spend their whole lives in study, spending thousands on Gear, hours, weeks and years writing music and paying thousands more to work in the studio to listen to a bunch of children cry that paying 1$ for an MP3 is too much. Artist don't spend thousands building debt going to college just to hand out their work for free. It's an Artist work that drives sells of a product. The paper that is being sold to print these images on would have any use if the artist's work wasn't printed on it.

Yeah, as if 1000 people are going to buy your T-Shirts.
Well, you actually did make a good point about mobile devices, but I don't think much traffic comes in from outside the US. I could be wrong, but probably not.
I'll take mobile speeds as an argument (I don't use mobile internet, so I can't confirm), but I seriously doubt you make much money from selling prints. You leave pennies on the ground, don't you?

I make about 15$ with each print. And I don't even try to.
I just put them up so people have an option to buy it from a real high quality
print shop. I know people who live solely off making artwork for print
who easily clear 1k a month. I have artwork people spend over 150$
to have printed on a Canvas to hang in their house. My Recent poster set
has sold around 250 prints, not counting cellphone cases,Shirts and so on
Last time I looked.

That's definitely more than I expected, but you only referenced individual prices, not monthly averages.
You know a person that makes that much, but that doesn't mean many do. But we're talking about you, here.

Giogiogio4 In reply to ManeatingCouch [2013-10-27 02:32:20 +0000 UTC]
I roughly make $300 a month. but like I said I don't focus all my energy on it. I make a few Artworks when I feel inspired
here and there and Submit my art for print.
Any artwork that looks good enough to print is good enough to be considered professional work.
Professionals deserve the money they make and deserve to make money for their hard work.
Ungrateful entitled thieves argue otherwise.

ManeatingCouch In reply to Giogiogio4 [2013-10-27 08:54:38 +0000 UTC]
That's a fair amount. I didn't think you guys made that much. A nice hobby, if you're good.
Well, thieves will be thieves. I still don't think you would lose much money by not supplying higher resolution images.
The people that have $150 to blow on a painting probably don't care about saving the money for something else.
