Description
The Model 1869 Warhawk was a combination of several designs submitted to the Union Army, mainly Remington and Colt. The military introduced the revolver at first to cavalry units, but the introduction of the Model 1870 quickly saw later production models sent to the regular infantry. Dispite this, as many as 50,000 Warhawks served with various cavalry units well until the end of the Civil War.
