Um, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you trying to use it as a thumbnail on your page via mobile? Or can you not view it except as a video on an Android phone? I have an Android phone and use the deviantART app to view it. Or do you mean set it as your avatar?

ok, so you can't view it nor set it as your avatar... Hm. Are you using the dA app? I'm not sure if using your phone's default browser is the issue, but I can't tell how that would affect it in that matter. Have you saved it already and it only uploads as a movie?

Do you have access to a computer rather than a phone? If so, I think some chargers can be disconnected from the wall adapter (the part that plugs into the wall) and be used as a USB cord, which you can then hook to a computer. You can plug your phone into that cord and the computer, then transfer a copy of the picture saved on the computer to your phone. Other than that, I'm not sure what could be done. It looks like you tried to use another gif as your current avatar, but it seems to be a jpeg instead (you can tell by the artifacts in the icon). Maybe it's how you're saving it? Is there a way to save it as something else? I personally haven't tried changing my avatar using my phone, so I'm sorry if anything I'm saying isn't helping.

What's the group about? Is there like contests or something to earn the badges? Are they to be displayed on people's pages and not used as icons? I could do it I guess btw.

some can be earned others are just to put on a badge card
example:
one can mean your a fan and another might show your love for a tv show.
they cant be used as icons (unless you give permission to have them be icons also.)
right now the group is quite new so not many badges are created yet.
however in the future i think contest and other tings would be fun with a badge as i prize
