Description Inspired hard by ManiakS tiger for PoxNora.

Finally finished! A lot of fun while doing this. Aroud 6-7 hours for this one. Main inspiration was god Anhur from Smite. After playing him I felt desire to paint tiger warrior/hunter. Image itself is not related to Anhur in any way. Looks more like Titan Quest one.
Dedicated to [link] After his critique I started to care more about design and relating things.

"Every Tiger may sew little bone gathered from killed animal. After collecting ten bones Tigers can sew a small animal skull on their forearm band. Or killing one human. It's also enough."

DUDE! This is awesome! a lot better than your last painting. I like that wrist band with the skulls and how you used that same kind of cloth in the handle of the knife and the loincloth. I also like that diagonal composition using the arms, brings a lot of action to it

I'll give you a small crit on this (it looks really good but you know, you can always improve everything) .

The fist thing is that I'm not so sure of that pose. It's very human in the way it's attacking. If you want it to be a human looking attack I'd have him doing a two handed swing from above like this [link] Or if you want it to be more animalistic have a one handed attack like you have but the timing of the picture isn't as epic as it could be. You wan to capture that Frazetta moment just before the attack were all the tension is built up. You need more tension in the wrist like this [link] so i'd bring the arm further back and gripping the knife harder so you feel it about to move.

The legs are also a bit anticlimactic and if you look at lions and how they attack they dive into their prey. This kinda looks like he's standing there and and has this crazy upper body but the lower part of his body is kinda tame. So if you base something of an animal, don't just look at photos, watch videos because you learn a lot about how they move and that helps a lot.

Look at a lot of Frazetta paintings. They're very climactic and have that awesome moment just before or after the action so the moment of impact is in your head and not on the painting.

Another small thing to fix is that his hand with the knife is too close to the edge so just crop it so it's not hugging the edge.

And here is a link to a crit that's relevant to your painting so it might help you understand what i mean. [link]

But dude! this is awesome! I'm really impressed, kinda makes me want to paint lion looking dudes! Would you mind if I do something based of the same idea?

If you listen and read critiques on Livestream, ConceptArt and like the Crimson Daggers, you learn a bunch A good exercise is to crit other people, I do it all the time and it helps me (and them) a lot
