You see this contraption will allow you to find footprints that have been left behind.It doesn't matter if you don't know what the footprints will look like, or even if they exist at all.
It'll find them even if 100 other people have walked over them before.
What do you mean that a contraption like that couldn't possibly exist?

I spent a long time trying to come up with a good joke about how ridiculous Ema's little footprint finding contraption from investigations that couldn't possibly exist without the aid of magic is when in my head she finally turned to me and said "Screw you! Science is magic!" So I decided to just draw that.
It's is a fairly obtuse joke and I wouldn't be surprised if most people who see this don't even begin to get it.... (that's part of the reason I'm not so sure I wanted to post it...)
