Had my doubts about Evans as Cap at first. Hadn't seen his filmography other than Human Torch, so I got no further opinion on his talents. I badly wanted Matt Damon to play The Cap for 7 years before the whole pre-production thingie. C'mon, just look at him.
But Damon didn't get the part--I was very down about that.
However, I was man enough to give Johnny Storm's doppelganger a chance. As it turned out, viewing Evans as Cap for 5 times washed all my disappointments away--permanently.

I have my doubts too, coz I always saw Cap as someone a bit older (like Josh Holloway, Mark Valley or maybe Daniel Craig...), but Chris Evans is a rather good actor, so I guess it could work.

Oooh, not sure I wanna see that now. Huh. Gonna have to go look up some clips of it, or something, see how he does. But...why would they chose someone who people would know (as /another superhero/, no less!) to play Cap? Just...uarg, why?

You know, I saw that guy in Push, and I thought "Wow, that guy would make a great Hawkman! ...After he grows up a bit."
But Captain America? That doesn't sound like it'll work. But it didn't seem like Robert Downey Jr would make a good Iron Man, but he did well.
I don't fear this movie nearly as much as I fear the Jonah Hex one.

See I don't get why peeps didn't have faith in Downey...from the beginning I thought it was perfect. Heath ledger and the joker was my big concern and look he turned out to be the thing that makes Dark Knight good. I will reserve judgement on human torch playing Cap until I see it but I will say so far I am with you.
