RE OUTBREAK CITY SERVICES - RPD PACK v1

That's right - "RPD PACK."  This contains XNALara compatable meshes for ALL thirteen still-human officers from the two Outbreak games - well, human when you first meet or find them, for most of them - plus two bonus custom RPD human meshes and five RPD zombies, for a total of twenty XNALara mesh models in all!

The first twelve of these can be seen or even interacted with in the "Outbreak" (File 1) and "Desperate Times" (File 2) scenarios.  The thirteenth, Jean, is from "Underbelly."  The next two are customs, based on characters that are named in RE2 (David Ford) and seen briefly in Oubreak File 1 (his brother Scott Ford).
You get fan favorites like the shotgun-toting Raymond and the tough but sweet Rita, major players like Marvin and Dorian, bit players like Tony and Fred, and even the doomed or close to being doomed among their number - such as Andy, Tony, and Jean.  The first thirteen "normal humans" can even be earned as alternate player characters in the two Outbreak games, if memory serves correctly.

AARON - Aaron is the cop shaking his head and walking away in the final cutscene of "Outbreak."

ANDY - You find the wounded Andy inside the police station in "Desperate Times."  I've provided you a custom clean mesh so you can have him as a normal human, but I've included the more gory original gameplay model texture, too.

ARTHUR - Arthur is the cop using the bullhorn announcing the evacuation of downtown Raccoon City in "Outbreak."

DORIAN - Dorian appears TWICE in "Outbreak."  The first time, you see him pinned to the ground and being used as a zombie blue plate special seconds before you find his fellow cop Raymond.  The second time, he's driving the SWAT van helping to evacuate the downtown areas - and he doesn't show any bite marks, either.  Weird ....

ELLIOT - Elliot is the cop directing the defense of the Main Street barricades near the end of "Outbreak."  He's also the second cop to get mobbed by the zombies when they finally break through.

ERIC - Eric is the poor sap hurriedly trying to finish connecting the detonator to the bombs under Main Street in "Outbreak."  He's also the first one killed when the zombies finally break through the barricades, as he's only a few feet away from them.

FRED - Fred is one of the surviving cops who has taken shelter inside the RPD in "Desperate Times."

HARRY - Harry appears in both "Outbreak" and "Desperate Times" - and his natural cowardice (despite his being a cop) is evident in both.  In "Outbreak," he's the only RPD officer to survive the zombies crashing the barricades - having freaked out and "strategically retreating" right about the time the Jake's Bar survivors show up.  In "Desperate Times," he drives the SWAT van that Rita has snagged from the old RPD police station (RE15, folks) to rescue the RPD survivors at the new station.  He takes off as soon as the zombies start moving towards the van - right after Rita and the Jake's Bar survivors climb in, and leaving the poor and wounded Marvin behind to his fate ....

JEAN - You find Jean's body in the subways in "Underbelly."  Like Harry, he ran like a coward when the zombies began taking over the town ... but unlike Harry, he commits suicide once he sees he can't escape.

MARVIN - Perhaps the most famous of the RPD officers, Marvin plays the same role in "Desperate Times" that he does in RE2, RE3, and Darkside Chronicles.  Its events are set a couple of days earlier than those games, however, so you get to take part in the events leading up to Marvin first getting injured (and infected), and second see how he got left behind while the surviving RPD officers escaped.

RAYMOND - This shotgun-toting badass of a cop is your best friend about halfway though "Outbreak," where he literally covers your back through several key sections.  Unfortunately, the zombies manage to rush and mob him right before another - but he'll tell you what to do before he dies, and you can get the item(s) you need to move on from his body once you clear the zombies away from it.

RITA - This sweet-talking petite Southern belle is a lot tougher than she looks and sounds.  She plays a key supporting role in "Desperate Times" ... but to say more would be to spoil her story.  She's a fan fave, and not just for her looks, either ....

TONY - Tony is the K-9 ("canine") dog handler for the RPD.  You meet him in "Desperate Times," where he expresses concern that his babies - the department's Doberman pinscher police dogs - might not make it though the outbreak.  He eventually heads downstairs to the Kennels to go get his beloved dogs for the evacuations - and his beloved dogs, long since thoroughly infected, promply maul his ass and then escape into the rest of the station.  Tony dies of his wounds not long after some of the Jake's Bar survivors find what's left of him.

And that's not all, folks!  I've included two bonus meshes in this pack, too!

DAVID FORD - This is the shotgun-toting RPD officer described in the diary found in RE2.  This guy has never been seen canonwise, so I made a custom mesh for him based off of one of the Outbreak zombies.  My custom is a cross between Aaron and the RPD zombie Vinnie, with cleaned-up features and a fresh uniform to boot.

SCOTT FORD - David's younger brother is only seen once in File 1's "Outbreak" scenario - and then only as a dead body.  I took the RPD zombie that the game uses for Scott and revamped the textures so it would look human.  His face, as is that of his zombie in the actual game, is derived from U.S.S. Conrad.

And let's not forget the five low-poly RPD zombies, either.  They have no names in the actual games, but I've given them some.  You get two female (Maria, Jane) and three male (Bill, Hal, and Vince) to add some uniform flavor to your zombie hordes.  (NOTE - There's a third RPD female zombie I know I'm missing that's nowhere to be found in the game's model data tables.  She appears in the "Desperate Times" cutscene where the zombies mob the RPD, and looks a lot like a zombified Regen Mallet in an RPD uniform.  I may have to make that one myself.)

Finally, as a shout-out to bstylez and his RPD police customs (his XNALara tutorials are MOST informative, folks), I've ALSO included some extras for everyone who want to do their own custom RPD meshes.  Uniforms and uniform accessories, as well a selection of police-style weapons and other police-oriented items to stock up that RPD station in your XNALara archive.  Most of these are by other talented XNALara artists - but the RPD uniforms, peaked RPD cap, police utility belts, flashlight, and two-way radio were ripped by me.  What would the RPD be without gear?  (NOTE - some of the slots are empty because I either haven't found or downloaded these items yet).

         ----------          ----------          ----------

Yes, I know some of the bone rigs aren't the best - such as Harry's.  That GMOD ragdoll bone rig isn't very flexible, but it's good for rigging models fast.  And I also know pieces are missing out of some of the models, like my quick-'n'-dirty Marvin.  That's something I plan to fix later.  Go get amberwolf's Marvin (or my unwonded retexture of it) if it's an issue.  It's got a better bone rig, anyway.

If you want "clean zombie" or "hypno" versions of most of these models, be sure to load the generic_item.mesh.ascii file instead of xps.xps.  Also, three of the models - Andy, Eric, and Marvin - have alternate versions that you can use by loading the included extra mesh files in their directories.  My custom David and Scott have alternate gory zombie models.  The RPD zombies are ... well ... zombies only - but at least their mouths work ... mostly.

Don't get too carried away posing these meshes.  All but Rita have very basic bones (GMOD ragdoll, no finger or face bones), so they're probably only good for limited or basic posing.  Rita's bone rig is a bit more sophisticated (DOA old style), but not by much.  The reason for this is that these two canned bone rigs caused me the least amount of trouble with the original models once I started trying to bone them with the 3DSMax overlay trick.  In other words, I only had to fiddle with them a little bit to avoid taffy texture issues with their pant legs.  I hope to revisit these characters at a later date with better bone rigs - and switch to the hi-res cutscene versions for them, too - but as I said, that will be later.  For now, I hope you find the first release of my Outbreak RPD pack useful despite its limitations ... and anyone who wants to retool/rebone these mesh models to suit their needs has my blessing.

Go ahead, guys - have fun!
