I'd love to see someone go to a con dressed as a Space Marine and do that second picture from the bottom. I think it'd be hilarious.

Ah yes, we remeber that... these were taken before the last battle of Hadrian III. A large chaos force composed of Khorne's followers was infesting the plabet, and thus we were called in to aid the guard regiment already present. We spent over a year on that planet fighting side by side, and overtime we began to fold our forces into joint units, and came to value the guardsmen as brothers and sisters in arms, rather than simply mere mortals. Grizzled NCO's told stories of battles and times long past to groups of initiates and neophytes hanging on their every word, Sword Brothers and Initiates led squads of Guard into combat against Daemons, and commisars shared meals with chaplains and castellans. Grimaldus even began opening Astartes sermons to all who wished to listen, and many did stand in to hear the good word. In the end we found a reminder of what it means to be human, and of why we should never forget why our mortal brethren are just as valuable as any astartes. Eventually, we wound up taking the remaining guardsmen and civilians with us in order to spare them from the inquisition's "purification" of the planet, now they travel with us on our endless crusade, fighting alongside us and ensuring that we always remember why it is that our aid is never to be with held from any human who requires it.

Man. write a book. I would read that story. Maybe it is a series of storyies put together. Each one from a different trooper or the same ones at different times.
We had been fighting the heretics for over seven months now. Just outside the range of the worlds major hives.Β Endless wave after wave of poorly armed cultists at one point we where nearlyΒ a million strong plus the arstarties.Β Now we are barely at half strength if even that. We sit in our trenches and we wait. Sometimes we wait days to weeks at a time waiting for the deamons or the cultists to return in mass.Β The chapter was distant and tended to regard us as nothing more than a way to hold the line. Numbers on a chart for someone ells to deal with. We fight ever bit as hard as them with out there holy blessings and armor. Yet they stand above us not even looking some of us in the eye. This was our home and we would be dammed if some frak boys think they can take the honer we worked so hard for inch by bloody inch while they just waltz right threw.Β That was the general feeling for some time at least after the enital awe of the chapter wore off. IT became a bitter rivalry of sorts. Until things changed.
I remember it and will remember it for the rest of my life with clearity. A hard won battle that was finaly over. Standing victorious with well placed artillery and firepower. Local PDF troopers who were absorbed into guard rank and scavenged there material were trying to take a picture to reasure a young girls remaining family she was still in high spirits disptie the horrors. A nasty message written on a board as a half joke. Lining up for a holopic when the ground shook and behind them was a Space marine himself. Looking down on all of them. Reading the message. What happened next was shocking. A deep gravely chuckle that soon turned into a light laugh. A long suppressed laugh that I in time learned had not seen the light in decades. A human laugh. He got down on one knee still towering over the young shoulders placing his power gloved hand on the shoulder of one and rasing a symble of victory in his other as the picture was taken. That in my own mind. Is what started the change along the front. A much needed change.Β

Ah yes.... the last battle of Hadrian. We remeber that, we had been on the planet for a little over a year now fighting the highly organized Khornate force. Guardsman and Templar fought shoulder to shoulder, pushing the great enemy back and making them bleed for every inch they had the audacity to even attempt to steal. In time they began to intermingle and even form mixed units, with initiates listening to grizzled stormtroopers tell tales of battles long past and sword brothers leading guardsmen against entrenched positions. Grimaldus even began giving weekly sermons to the entire army. These pictures were taken before the final push that ended with the annihilation of the chaos forces... and the regiment's induction into the crusade after the inquisition showed up to "cleanse" the planet in the same way they did at Armageddon. To this day they fight by our side on numerous fronts, and they have become a reminder or what we once were and of why we must never forget who we were before we swore our lives to the god emperor.

Wrong chapter, the tempotemporal knights are the Imperium's altruistic problem children, they see themselves as those called to do better and as such will harbor outcast xenos in exchange for labor, technology, or various other things, though never being cruel nor malicious to anyone except chaos.

Um, we too exist in the text to speech timeline................... (my true OC is a Pls-Nerf Inquistor with a Daemonhammer who is an absolute god in battle. To the point that the Adeptus Custodes tried to recruit him. You can guess why he declined.......... He was also one of the Inquisitors who kept their jobs after Fyrdor's temper tantrum)

As long as he takes the Eldar Farseer that is tagging along with the legion with a grain of salt I'm sure Justinian and him would get along.

Considering she loves melee combat to where she often forgets to bring any ranged weapon with her into battle. I think they may tolerate her if not they have a psychic primarch to deal with.

Man this is great. I can see the inspiration shining through this piece, the shenanigans of off duty troopers, postcards home, pranks and larrikinism. Best of all, WH40K Imperial Guard and Adeptus Astartes.
