Once upon a time he was Orion Pax, the teenage son of the previous Prime whose spark was extinguised by Orion's former teacher Megatronus. In his early eons had to put his adolescent years behind him and further mature from the optimistic youth he was rather quickly, the transition to maturity as a military commander was anything but smooth and took quite a toll on his spark. But none the less, with the Matrix of Leadership beating in his very spark chamber he has earned the very title of Prime past to him by his own father and still does all in his power to protect the universe from the evil Decepticons.

This is a little redone of this previous design I did [link] , I actually prefer this design over the other Optimus design I recently did.
Having been watching Heat Guy J again I decided to "copy" Daisuke Aurora's bike here, just the idea of that otherwise useless trailer becoming a motorcycle for Optimus to drive sounds stupidly awesome to me. It would sure make for the best damn Optimus toy ever :3

First thing I thought when seeing the bike is having Prime pop a wheelie in order to shoot the enormous cannon in it. (And turning the bike upside-down to make a stupidly oversized shoulder-cannon.)
Honestly, I'd be stoked to see a storyline where Optimus, as the leader of an earth-based team, has a trailer which turns into a variety of useful, sober, expected field items - like a comms tower, a floating medical platform, a weapons array, and so on. Subsequently. we see a storyline where the Decepticons suppress his adult memories and he winds up stranded on Cybertron, and it turns out all his trailer's functions were just militarized/reskinned versions of their original functions - the shoulder cannon mode was a cannon-bike, the comms tower was a telescoping launcher to launch him through the air, the medical platform was a sky-surfboard, and so on.

You'd think that some of the modern toys would have implimented the option to simply push the extended cab nose in and out, that alone would let you keep the G1 robot style without making the actual transformation so less cumbersome.

That would be freakin' hilarious to see in a Transformers movie, a full on transformation from trailer to motorcycle complete with a close up of a pony hood ornament popping out. I can already hear the audience busting a gut.
