Not long ago I've decided to do some hypothetical but realistic drawing and choose the Tosa/Kaga class battleship as would had modernised Nagato style in the mid late 1930's. Hull length slightly increased, anti torpedo bulges added, pagoda style superstructure rebuilt and extended, light and heavy AA guns added and aircraft facilities installed on the aft
I've changed the 1st deck shape and moved the two aft casemates there more outward to provide more space for the ship boats and heavy AA guns.

The design had the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 217,93 (pp) x 239,15 (wl) x 243,1 (oa) x 33,5 x 9,80m
Displacement: likely around 46.000tons (standard), 48.500tons (full load)
Armour: 280mm Belt inclined to 15 degrees, 102mm Deck, 76mm Slopes
Engines: probably around 100.000shp Kampon Steam Turbines, 4-shafts
Range: 15.800km at 30km/h (8.560nm at 16knots)
Speed: 51km/h (27,5knots)
Armaments:
5x2 410mm/45 3rd Year Type Cannons,
16x1 140mm/50 3rd Year Type Guns,
4x2 127mm/40 Type 89 DP-AA Guns,
10x2 25mm/60 Type 96 AA Guns
3x Seaplanes, 2x Kawanishi E7K Alf, 1x Nakajima E8N Dave
